Mission: Womenventure helps women attain economic self-sufficiency through the creation and growth of profitable and sustainable businesses.
Programs: Business development:womenventure supports women to attain economic success and independence by providing training, capital and ongoing consultation through all stages of business development. Capital is provided to low-collateral, higher risk clients through federal, state, private foundation and city funds. Womenventure is a u. S. Small business administration (sba) microloan provider. Qualified borrowers can receive start up and expansion loans of $500 - $50,000. Womenventure disbursed and facilitated $10,476,100 in loans helping 204 small businesses. This helped create or retain 1,050 jobs. The business owners paid themselves an average wage of $27. 49 an hour. Womenventure is also an sba women's business center (wbc) that is a part of a national network of nearly 100 educational centers dedicated to assisting women start and grow small businesses. As part of the classes, they also help clients network with other entrepreneurs and also have mentors to ensure the progress and success. In tax year 2016, the organization provided 9,681 hours of training and consulting to clients. The organization provided different training and services (free and paid courses) to help clients recognize their skills and personal ideas which can be turned into businesses by helping them create business plans & learn about legal compliances, marketing, financial, human resources, operation and sales aspect of the business.
