Mission: Stardust Non-Profit Building Supplies is a unique organization consisting of a store similar in set up to Home Depot but on a smaller scale; well stocked, with quality new and used building materials. The concept that Stardust embodies is that of A Hand Up Not a Hand Out . Individuals, businesses or organizations can call with their donations and have reusable building materials picked up by our truck. We leave a contribution letter with them and bring the merchandise to the store to be cleaned up and placed on the sales floor. The merchandised is target priced so it is affordable to economically disadvantaged families and individuals in low-income neighborhoods throughout the Phoenix valley. (Usually 50% to 80% or more below regular retail.)
Donated reusable materials are kept from being dumped in our landfills and instead sold to our customers or donated to other non-profit shelter, housing or assistance organizations that need help. People buying from the store do not feel as if they are scrounging for scraps but rather shopping at a nice store with quality merchandise. Revenues generated from sales or cash donations are used to fund the operation. At the end of each year, our Board of Directors will distribute excess revenues to Habitat for Humanity, Christmas in April and other housing or shelter groups in need.
Programs such as Angels On Call will provide experienced, skilled, volunteer labor to repair or install critical, basic home elements (I.E. sinks, toilets, windows, doors, etc.) with parts or products furnished also at no charge from the store. This service will focus on people who will be referred to us by churches, shelters and government agencies.
Among the many advantages of Stardust Building Supplies are:
X Providing a sustainable system to eliminate the wasteful disposal of reusable building materials thereby having a significant impact on landfills.
X Providing funding for Habitat for Humanity, Christmas in April and other shelter groups to expand their reach and scope in providing for the economically disadvantaged.
X Providing materials needed by startup or under-funded charity organizations to support their community outreach efforts.
X Providing programs such as Angels on Call to further extend our assistance to families and individuals within our communities.

Programs: Building material resale - stardust operates three retail stores in the phoenix metro area totaling 67,000 square feet. The stores offer donated new and gently used building materials for sale to the public at prices significantly below regular new retail. This program assists homeowners by offering quality building materials at an affordable price, while reducing landfill waste.
deconstruction services - stardust offers deconstruction services to carefully remove reusable materials in exchange for the materials, which are then used in the other programs. These materials would have often otherwise been hauled off to a landfill.
stardust's gifts in kind program is operated in partnership with valley of the sun united way. The program links corporations and small business donors with nonprofit organizations needing products to support their clients and offset the cost of operations. Gifts in kind gives nonprofit organizations access to large quantity and bulk donations of usable materials such as diapers, office supplies and bedding received from local retailers. Representatives from eligible organizations are given 20 minutes to shop in the distribution center for items that meet their client's needs or offset their operational costs. Since inception in july 2012, gifts in kind has provided goods to 300 nonprofit organizations and touched the lives of over 300,000 people in need in our community.
angels on call - stardust's angels on call program provides building materials and resources to underprivileged, elderly and /or handicapped individuals and families.
