We brought our son to H. E. L.P. twice. The first time it was to give him skills to complete his schooling in a positive way, after he was diagnosed with ADD. The course was helpful and the staff was caring and affirming. In his senior year our son suffered repetitive brain injuries requiring a year of physical and occupational therapy. He was struggling with short and long term memory, as well as many learning issues when I contacted H.E.L.P. to ask if they could assist us with traumatic brain injuries. They could, and did. The impact was significant on his ability to overcome these challenges. He was able to attend college and graduate with a bachelor’s degree. He is currently working and taking further classes. We are grateful for this program!

This program changes my life as a teen. By the end of the program I was left wishing I had found it at a younger age. This is why I have done the program with my oldest child as young as possible. My youngest child is now just starting to process. Now seeing my children have fun with learning. As well as there educational world growing more then ever before has been a joy to see. Both are showing less frustration and loving learning. Thank you H.E.L.P!

I was so impressed with H.E.L.P. as I had a daughter improve greatly through analysis, evaluation, and progressive drills/excercises. It assisted us as parents in understanding the needs and reinforcing the progress.
I have been known to say that every person might enhance their life by being evaluated and assisted through H.E.L.P.
Our association has been very positive. Several friends also have had great experiences with them. We recommend them all the time.

This is a fantastic program. The teachers are knowledgeable and passionate about helping their students through their struggles. They provide a unique way of looking at education that works. As someone with dyslexia, I do not know where I would be without this program. Certainly not writing reviews or being a board member of nonprofits.

This is an excellent program! Our special needs child benefited greatly from these lessons. Our teacher, Susan, worked tirelessly. She created a wonderful balance between repetition and new ideas., with hard work and fun games. She was able to overcome I know dozens of families--and students-- who loved H.E.L.P.

H.E.L.P. is making a positive difference in Oregon!

As a parent, I was in awe in the positive impact it had on my two children, who are both graduates of the program. It improved their communication, their thinking, made school easier, and helped with their self confidence. We can't thank the instructors and staff at H.E.L.P. for all of the fine work they have done for not only our kids, but other clients as well.

My grandson went through this program. It was hard work for him and my daughter who served as his coach but it ended up being the best thing we ever could have done for him. He wanted to learn to read but just couldn't remember sight words and math was a big struggle for him because learning and remembering his math facts was nearly impossible. This program helped him learn HOW to remember things and HOW to increase his memory, things he both heard and saw. They helped him believe in himself and realize mistakes were OK. I wish everybody of all ages could do this program. The instructors are great.

I went through the HELP program when I was 8 and I credit soooo much of my success to how it helped me mentally process things the rest of my life. I also noticed the same symptoms in my daughter early on and she half way through the program and has already improved so much in reading, organization, retention and thought processing.

Everyone needs to know the life long benefits of this course.

My son entered the program with difficulties focusing among other things. He left the program excited to go back to school in person instead of homeschooling. His focus has changed drastically for the better. His eye hand coordination has changed drastically. And, he's trying new things that he would have never tried before entering this program. He now wants to play basketball and dribbles the ball around the house all the time.

My 3rd grade son was struggling to read just a few pages in a 1st grade reading book. It was terrible seeing him struggle. We came to HELP and I didn’t really know what to expect. We went through the program and it was challenging, but SO WORTH IT! Now he is confident in academics, but also with his peers!! It has unlocked a world of knowledge to him and made him realize that he can do much more than he thought! The character that my son gained through this program far outweighs moving up several grade levels in reading (which also happened)! These are some of the most patient and knowledgeable people I’ve met! I could go on and on, but this program was the best thing we could’ve ever done.

With this program our child has grown so much. Without going for a diagnosis of any cognitive items they focus on a person’s strengths and weaknesses. We went from daily arguments to do schoolwork and comments like “I’m stupid” to having a solid routine of how to take on a project, keep daily routines and how to deal with breakdowns. Everyone at H.E.L.P provides a lot of support where and when you need it. Very reassuring through learning new exercises. The way they go about walking you through the program is impressive. Small baby steps where you need it then adjust when you need to, clarifying constantly. We completed this course almost one year ago and I am constantly referring to how we work on a problem or learn something new. Break things down into small pieces and add on when ready. This program has given my son a lot of confidence in school and trying new things. It has also given me, as a parent, a way to meet my son where he is currently so we can grow and learn together. It’s hard work and a big commitment, and it is priceless.

My son went through this program years ago. He couldn't read or write, was unorganized, and unfocused and the doctors and teachers recommended medication. My wife looked for a more natural solution that would not give him any of the side effects that medications can cause. He became a voracious reader and a great writer. He learned to focus and organize his work and environment and went to college. He would not have been able to do that without this program. I highly recommend HELP.

Help is an amazing organization that supports people dealing with various challenges in their professional and academic lives. The staff there is incredible - they're kind, patient, and really know their stuff. One teacher that stands out is Charlene Smith, she is very knowledgeable when it comes to brain training and meets clients where they are and helps them feel at ease and confident in their learning. What's really cool about Help is they focus on boosting self-esteem and helping the whole person.
They help you gain confidence and overcome obstacles in a way that feels natural . Personally, I'm so glad this service exists and I recommend it to anyone looking for lasting solutions and support in their growth and development

I heard about H.E.L.P class through a trusted friend, who over many years has listened to and witnessed my challenges with what turned out to be ADHD. Diagnosed with ADHD a few years back, I struggled with medications and various coping mechanisms in search of negotiating a path towards success, finishing what what I started. I was in need of learning how to negotiate my brain and set myself up for success. This class did it. The first test results from this class showed me my areas of strength, and corresponding areas where I needed to build up strength, essentially re-train my brain. Over the next months, I learned how to approach my stumbling blocks with a variety of techniques, and work on progressing towards my goals.
A fierce advocate for self accountability and self compassion, Susan is patient, kind, knowledgable, witty and relentless in just the right combination. The class is crafted for individuals, the curriculum tailored to each student's needs, so all the work I've done was the work I needed to do to grow, to integrate the various parts of my brain that previously were like a pack of wild kittens- nearly impossible to corral into cohesive productive thought. This class has wrought palpable changes in my outlook and approach to life, relationships and work. I am grateful such a class exists, and am happy for the changes it has made possible.

In 1993 at the age of 13, I was failing every major class. It wasn’t for lack of trying. We tired tutors, testing, special education. Nothing seemed to work. I was reading at a 3rd grade level in the 8th grade. My self esteem was shot. My parents signed me up with H.E.L.P. The initial assessment test determined I most definitely had a learning disability. After 6months of intensive “brain exercises” as I called them, I went from F’s & D’s to A, B, C’s. I could hear the beat of music (which I couldn’t before)… and became head cheerleader at school. I went on to get my BA in social work and now work with disabled children and adults. In 2021, when my son, showed signs of struggling in school, despite trying for hours. We tested him, even though he tested extremely high in certain areas, his scores in writing, hearing and sequencing were extremely low. In other words, a typical classroom was setting him up to fail every time. So thankful that H.E.L.P. was still around, even after 30+years! My son now has benefited from this training and he is soaring in the classroom. Luckily his self esteem wasn’t damaged as much as mine. So thankful for H.E.L.P, my life has been forever changed for the better. I have no idea where I would be without H.EL.P. Don’t hesitate, if you struggle with reading, writing, dancing, fine and gross motor skills, or even social skills. H.E.L.P. can set your course for higher achievements.

I am indebted to HELP. My son, Adam, was about 15 when I enrolled him in the program. Adam was struggling in school. He had an IEP and so there were modifications set in place. However, he was still struggling and his self-confidence was non-existent.

Adam was paired with teacher Charlene. Charlene worked so well with Adam and our family. She never gave up on him. Charlene was able to reach Adam in a way no other teacher could. I watched his self-esteem blossom. They worked on brain exercises like learning to juggle, exercises that improved his writing technique, exercises that use both sides of his brain. By the end of the training, Adam's deficits were so improved in some areas, he was "off the chart" improved. When Adam was retested, he reached a level of the testing that wasn't seen often.

Adam was able to finish school. His self-esteem improved, and he has continued to see more successes.

The HELP program works. Charlene, is the best teacher!

I came to H.E.L.P as an adult learner. The staff identified my learning strengths and taught me new methods of learning in areas I struggled. These new methods, tailored to my learning style, allowed me to think differently when organizing myself for class work and big projects. I now know, as a leader, how to break down a project, simplify a system and present a goal clearly to others. The goal of H.E.L.P. and the staff working there has been immensely valuable to me.

Our youngest child went through the HELP program several years ago, and we loved it so much our oldest child is going through the program right now! The activities are interesting, engaging, and challenging. We saw improved focus and reading with our first experience at HELP, and are looking forward to improvements in our current situation too. I believe so strongly in HELP that I am now a board member!

Our son went through the program several years ago. In school, he was struggling with all of his classes having difficulty understanding directions and focusing on key points. After the program, we found his ability to work through a variety of academics subjects to be much better. This program requires practice and commitment, but is absolutely worth it!

I was 8 when I went through the HELP program 20 years ago. I could not read or write at that time. I am not exagerating when I say this program saved me. I began to read, first Clifford books with a lot of help and by the time I graduated from the program was able to read the Harry Potter series. I got my Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and in college Reading, Writing and History were my favorite (and A) subjects. I can't imagine where I would be without HELP.

My 7yo daughter did the HELP program to improve her abilities to focus, as she struggles with ADD. The program focused on cross-hemisphere strengthening activities. I believe she improved during the course of the program, and I will continue to work with her to progress as she matures as a student. Our teacher, Gayle, was lovely and a caring mentor.

The folks at H.E.L.P. are wonderful! Had our son tested and go through their program. He was in high school at the time and somewhat resistant to "needing" help. Ultimately even he could see the difference HELP's program made for him. As a parent I could see improvement almost from the start--how he processed things, his reading skills as he had always disliked reading. My son hated the Spelling Group list--though if I were to ask him now two years later--I am sure that he could see the positive that came from them. The Quad writing was probably his favorite thing to do besides the juggling. Thank you Gayle, Susan and all the others at HELP for all the work you put in to help so many others!

My son has struggled in school for years. We had completed speech therapy, eye therapy and several years of Ortin-Gillingham tutoring. A friend recommended that we try Help Elevate. Initial testing showed that my son struggled with visual memory and auditory processing and memory. This is why he was able to learn a concept but then struggle to recall it. It is also the reason he struggled taking notes in class. This program is an investment of finances and time. It has been so worth the investment. Immediately, my son's confidence improved because he was able to identify the reason he was struggling and know that he had an opportunity to make improvements. We have completed the program and he has noticed a huge improvement. He will continue to apply the skills and exercises he has learned. Thank you Help Elevate staff for aiding my kiddo so that he has hope and success.

Our oldest son has strong Dyslexia. We ended up pulling him out of public school in the 5th grade because the schools had no way to help him. We tried tutoring. We tried homeschooling. We tried every program under the sun and none of them helped. We were going crazy trying to find a solution, and our son was just depressed.

Then, a colleague at work told me about the HELP program. Within 12 months, our son went from a 2nd-grade reading level to a 12th-grade reading level. The turn-around was unbelievable. This program WORKS.
