Mission: Valencia shelter for victims of domestic violence, also known as valencia shelter services, was organized to provide temporary refuge and support services for families and their children who are in a state of crisis as a result of domestic, physical or emotional abuse.
Programs: During fy2017, valencia shelter services continued to provide comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Advocates provided support to 280 victims on our 24 hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter to 168 survivors and their children, provided personal advocacy and legal advocacy to 239 survivors, and provided counseling services to over 200 survivors and children. In addition, vss provided primary prevention programming to students at a local high school, coordinated over 100 child abuse cases through the child advocacy center and multidisciplinary team, and reached nearly 1,000 community members through our outreach efforts.
