Mission: Incorporated in 1978 and located in the heart of the largest Cambodian community outside of Southeast Asia, UCC is a multicultural, non-profit, community-based organization. Its mission is to build bridges between refugee communities and existing society in oder to enable a new way of life. Its goals are to provide innovative leadership and support for low-income populations, promote economic independence, develop self-reliance in target communities, cultivate skills needed to meet the demands of full participation in the society, and preserve and foster Cambodian traditions.
Programs: Ucc provided health education, youth development, and community engagement to over 5,500 individuals in the last year. These services include case management, khmer translation, healthcare enrollment, application assistance, workforce development, social support groups, esl classes, and citizenship application assistance. During the year ucc provided 10,400 hours of youth workforce training, enrolled members into health benefits that saved $1,075,578 in the cambodian community, and 92% of participants increased in their mental health.
