Mission: Hi, my name is Shelly Jordan. I am the president of the non-profit organization, Rising Up Together. Some time ago, I spent considerable effort as a mother trying to help my teenage daughter overcome the turmoil of anxiety. Like many parents, I did everything I could to learn about the issue and help her combat it. I then spent three years devising a program that would empower youth from all walks of life to connect, find purpose, and build resilience for life!
Results: With mental illnesses on the rise, we thought it was time to intervene by creating a super fun program that all the youth love being part of, while giving them essential life-skills that promote social and emotional wellness for youth and families everywhere! Never in the history of time have the youth been more virtually connected and yet, so socially disconnected. This lack of in-person connection is significantly impacting the social & emotional wellness of our youth. Rising Up Together has developed a program for EVERYONE where youth can engage and deepen friendships through fun activities, team building games, a variety show, meaningful discussions, dances, and so much more!
Target demographics: youth (ages 11-17) and parents
Geographic areas served: Utah and surrounding areas (hoping to expand to more locations!)
Programs: super fun program that all the youth love being part of, while giving them essential life-skills that promote social and emotional wellness for youth and families everywhere
