Kellan Ford Foundation is an wonderful local foundation dedicated to raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research and services to help families dealing with terminal diagnoses. Kellan’s beautiful legacy and his positive spirit live on via the many family friendly events and educational programs hosted by KFF.
Kellan lived his life to the max - with grace, strength, dignity, love, wonder and awe. His mantra ‘Today I Choose Happiness’ is the fiber of this incredible foundation … and it’s something I try to embrace every day.

I have been blessed to call Kristin Ford my best friend for more than 30 years. When her son Kellan passed away from brain cancer at age 5, the lives of Kristin, her husband Mike, her son Parker and all those that love them were changed forever. To honor Kellan’s life, brave battle with cancer, and his legacy of “choosing happiness,” Kristin and Mike established the Kellan Ford Foundation to further funding for pediatric cancer research, make holistic treatment options more readily available, bring love and joy to those children and their families going through the cancer journey, and support the bereaved by building a strong community for them to rely on. I am truly inspired by how Kristin has channeled her grief and loss into an amazing organization that has already helped so many. I am proud to routinely donate $ and volunteer time to help with fundraising events for such a worthy cause. It keeps me and my family close to our friend with Kellan always on our minds and in our hearts. I tell everyone that will listen about my best friend and her incredible family, hoping that Kellan’s story will encourage them to do their part to help fight this devastating disease.

The Kellan Ford Foundation has done a great job of connecting our community with the realities of pediatric cancer and how important funding is for the cause. A holistic approach to addressing pediatric cancer is well-communicated, which resonates with everyone as they realize the amount of care is needed for the children affected. Research and treatment are essential, but the KFF harps on other therapies and means of making the children's lives more comfortable and bearable through the several stages they may experience.
I very much enjoy representing the foundation at fundraisers to spread Kellan's message of "choose happiness", especially at the mini-golf events (mini-golf was Kellan's favorite). It means a lot to me.

Their efforts have been to bring awareness to people about the lack of funding for children's cancer and to share some of the treatments that helped Kellan during difficult times. The Foundation is “all in” with their commitment to the advancement of education and science to support childhood cancer research, holistic cancer care, and palliative and hospice care to improve and support the lives of children and their families living with a cancer diagnosis.
Kellan was a true fighter with a peace that surpassed all human understanding. The KFF has been an inspiration to so many. The vision and dedication to the KFF from Kellan’s parents, Mike and Kristin, and the support of his brother Parker has been incredible and courageous!
September was Childhood Cancer awareness month and the KFF was in “all in” mode with many events including collaborating with the Philadelphia Union and MLS to #kickchildhoodcancer.
I look forward to the day when we can all celebrate achieving Kellan’s goals. Meantime, many lives have been and will be positively impacted because of the KFF.
My involvement in the KFF has changed me for the better! Our hearts still grieve, but our hope lives!
The Kellan Ford Foundation is striving to assist families and children in need in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond as they navigate a pediatric cancer diagnosis by raising money for grants toward holistic cancer care options. The co- founders have hearts of gold and have put their souls into this novice foundation and fundraising and education towards integrative cancer treatments. I had the great opportunity to complete my summer externship with The Kellan Ford Foundation. They truly are one of a kind, who puts in so much effort and time into their work, to honor Kellan. While honoring Kellan’s journey and message, “Today I choose Happiness”, they help support other families whose child is suffering from cancer and plan many events to raise awareness and money for Pediatric Cancer Research. They inspired me with their care and sympathy for others, especially when I saw the team prepare care boxes for children battling cancer. They are amazing!
During the summer, I worked with the Kellan Ford Foundation for my summer externship. The foundation and their team are so hardworking and inspired me to not only complete a common goal but complete it well.
