Seconds Acts is a true blessing for our furry friends! 100% of donations are disbursed to groups nationwide that adopt a no-kill policy. Considering how my Maxwell could have been one of the millions of puppies who didn't receive a Second Act, I can only thank Mr. Brown and his nonprofit for spreading life. Bravo! Encore!
Second Acts is an amazing organization! They are a sincere non-profit with a genuine cause and genuine hearts driving them. When my sister, who works at an animal shelter all the way across the country came across a dog that really needed a break she contacted me and I in-turn contacted Second Acts. Immediately they were on-board and helping us in the "Save Gerdy" campaign. This is a true success story as Gerdy was placed in a permanent home against all odds and is happily living with her new loving family today. Second Acts asked for nothing in return. Their compassion and drive is impressive and inspiring. To think that they can and did help this one down-on-its-luck pup from 2000 miles away, shows their genuine desire to make a difference and their dedication to their mission to get animals out of shelters. They do what they say they're going to do and they put 100% of all proceeds towards their mission. For these reasons and all the animals they've helped to save, Second Acts prevails at the top of my list of truly great nonprofits.
Second Acts
This is a rescue organization that I trust. Second Acts is the only rescue I could find that means "non-profit" when they say it.
Our promotional company (NAT Promotions) has worked with S.A. to raise money to "take pets off death row."
Michael Brown is the representive that we work with. He's great about raising interest in our shows and being an active part on the charity side of everything. Even going as far as writing and staring in a commercial that explained where the donated money goes.
I will use this orginazation for our charity donations, and pet adoption as long as they are in existence.

Second Acts gives 100% of its donations to the front lines of animal rescue where it will have the greatest impact. I volunteered for animal rescue groups for years and know they are full of amazing people saving lives everyday. Unfortunately resources are scarce. That's why Second Acts is such a Godsend. They carefully research potential groups all over the country for donation recipients. When the check is received it is put to the best use possible by rescuers who care. These groups have no overhead so the money benefits the homeless animals directly. It's an amazing concept.
This organization is great! All my dogs are rescued from a shelter and it is great to see that there is an organization that supports the Non-Kill policy! It is wonderful to see how passionate Mr. Brown is to helping animals find places that will love and cherish them!
I am the Animal Science teacher for Long Beach Unified School District. I have nothing but outstand things to say about Second Acts. They are probably the most carring of the animal help organizations I have every been lucky enough to work with. . I can not say enough about these people. I am so very proud of all the things they have accomplished in such a short time, So I am very willing to give them a five star rating. I constantly tell my class about this organization and how they have continued to help so many animals.

This charity helps volunteer organizations provide food and shelter for otherwise homeless cats and dogs. The man who started Second Acts, actor Michael Brown, has given many hours and his own money to get this charity established and further its goals, helping small shelters continue to provide care for, sadly, underfunded services to cats and dogs in need. I was so impressed with the focus on all-volunteer, no-kill shelters that I wanted to get involved. Second Acts brings attention to lesser-known shelters and rescue groups all across the USA and gives grants to many that need the most help. These smaller groups are working directly with cats and dogs at a local level. They don't have the resources that the Humane Society does, nor do they provide care for as many animals as Best Friends in Utah can, but the 10, 20, or maybe even 100 cats and dogs in their care depend on the food, shelter, and medical attention that these volunteer groups give them. These smaller shelters and rescue groups are often underfunded as they usually depend on small donations from local people and money out of their own pockets. A grant from Second Acts can be a big help. Second Acts appears at events here in the Los Angeles area throughout the year and keeps drawing people's attention to the no-kill shelter movement. While so many Americans are struggling in this economy, charitable donations are down all across the country. Second Acts plays a valuable role in keeping the shelter animal issue in the public eye and collecting donations for these cats and dogs who need our help so greatly. Everyone involved in Second Acts is a volunteer, and founder Michael Brown has so generously given his time and money on behalf of animals. Second Acts works hard to spread awareness of smaller no-kill shelters across America and to raise funds to help them in their wonderful work. I greatly applaud Second Acts and hope that this charity continues to grow.
Seconds Acts is absolutely amazing!!! Their mission statement is set up to donate all, not just a chunk, but ALL of the donations they receive to the groups nationwide that are truly there for a purpose with these animals. I even more so appreciate that their donations go to groups who hold a no-kill policy. They are a wonderful organization doing wonderful things for pets and owners all over!
Second Acts is a gem and rare among charities in that it distributes 100% of ALL donations it receives, holding nothing back for administrative costs or marketing. The group's focus is on small, volunteer-run pet-rescue organizations nationwide that adopt a no-kill policy, yet don't receive the same amount of notoriety for their important work as larger animal welfare groups. Over the years, I've seen Second Acts have a significant grass-roots impact not only on these oft-struggling hometown groups, but on the lives of thousands of homeless animals, as they get much needed food, medical care, and permanent homes with loving families.
I've supported Second Acts since its inception. I knew its founder ,Michael Brown and was impressed with how he made his dream of applying his skills and experience in the corporate world to his passion for helping animals. I continue to support Second Acts because as hard as it is to build a non profit in this economy, Michael continues to sacrifice his time and heart to make sure 100% of the funding goes to giving these animals with no more options, the full, loving life they so deserve.
I have been with Second Acts since it was just a glint in the eye of the founder. I have seen it facilitate rescues and rescue agencies. Without Second Acts, the lives of many abandoned animals would not have been saved.
Second Acts Foundation does so much to help communities around the country by helping and supporting small grass roots rescue organications. Our rescue organization The Pepper Foundation was honored to have been the recipients of a grant through Second Acts Foundation. They are wonderful to work with , and they truly care about the animals and the rescue groups that rescue these animals. We also love them because they have a specail love for the senior animals because these animals rarely get adopted by the general public. They are truly dedicated to helping the animals. We absolutely love Second Acts Foundation and are so appreciative of their love and support! Thank you so much Second Acts Foundation, we love you! Julie Chadwick - The Pepper Foundation
The tireless work done by Second Acts is incredible; no buying donations, no administrative salaries!! Second Acts actually assists animals in need of food, medical and housing (temporary or forever homes). Fantastic organization!!
Second Act is a great non-profit based here in Los Angeles but their efforts to help rescued animals goes nationwide.
Second acts charity utilizes compassion and hope to fuel their extraordinary love for neglected animals. Their drive to rescue animals and raise funds to give these furry friends the love they deserve is rivaled by none. I was turned onto Second Acts after speaking with founder Michael Brown, who's heart is only matched by his desire to love and serve all things great or small. This non profit sets the example of human compassion for all living things, and is a beacon of hope that should be emulated by the world.
Second Acts is a rarity in that it donates 100%...every penny received...to rescue groups across the country that are very small and run solely by volunteers. These groups really need the funding, and unlike the larger, well-known organizations, they do not take salaries for their hard work. To date, Second Acts has issued grants to more than 150 rescue groups across the country, saving more than 400 homeless dogs and cats.
