Mission: The Avalanche Center seeks to reduce fatalities, injuries and property damage due to snow avalanches by using the internet and related technologies to provide educational resources and to facilitate the dissemination and discussion of technical advances in order to assist people in independently making sound decisions which will reduce snow avalanche hazards.
Geographic areas served: Global
Programs: We operate an international website with avalanche information, from basic to scientific. Widely disseminated inaccurate information is highlighted and corrected through our project. We do not use any of the funds we raise to help pay the salaries of federal employees, or to support the federal government in any way. We have not affiliation with the US Forest Service.
