In the past 2 1/2 years, I have gone from knowing nothing about horses to spending at least twice daily, seven days a week, in the barn. It has been fulfilling to help not only the horses and barn cats but also helping our participants and working with our volunteers. Assisting others to spend time with the horses and learning about herd mentality has been excellent. Seeing the changes in our participants and volunteers is fantastic. Our equine-assisted programs mean so much to so many people, and I am proud to be a part of it.
