My husband and I adopted a 4 month old dog from TCGC who was born without her left eye and the sight in her right eye was very limited. They were very caring and supportive throughout Hope's life, especially her foster mom Teresa who loved to receive updates. Several years after her adoption, we were asked to take a foster who was being surrendered by his adoptive family. The rescue was so concerned that he would end up in the right home since he was in New England as were we. We quickly realized what a gem Eddy was so it wasn't long before we adopted him too. Sadly they are both no longer with us having both made it to 12 years old.TCGC is the most caring rescue we have ever had the pleasure of adopting from. They love all of their rescues and find the best match for the animals and the people. We continue to support them with our donations because we know that the funds are always well spent.
I first found out about TCGC Animal League when we were looking for a dog to adopt. I had just survived a cancer scare and decided to adopt a "special needs" dog. At that time they were doing out of state adoptions through an affiliation with another rescue. Hope only had one eye and she was "legally blind". The care they put into getting their babies into just the right home is phenomenal. I was so impressed with their mission that I have also become a constant donor. A few years later Teresa asked us to foster a dog that had been adopted and returned. She didn't believe what the adopters were saying about him and was so worried that they were going to put him down that she arranged for boarding which wasn't cheap and they couldn't really afford. So Eddy became a member of the house and he wasn't leaving!
We don't have any more dogs but I continue to support and admire the work that they continue to do. Although they both have medical issues Teresa and her husband work when they can simply to pay for the medical bills for the animals in their care. They truly believe in 'Taking Care of God's Creatures" and fully deserve any financial support they receive from donors.
Wonderful organization that does an amazing job pairing pets with new families. We have had the opportunity to adopt 3 wonderful dogs from TCGC and it was great experience. I would absolutely recommend TCGC to anyone.
We were looking for a buddy for our black lab, Jake, and I saw a picture in the newspaper posted by TCGC. The picture was of a black lab mix and all the caption said was: "Laredo doesn't understand why he's here". For some reason, that really spoke to me and soon, we adopted Laredo from TCGC. That was about 10 years ago. When Jake was gone, we needed a buddy for Laredo so I contacted TCGC since they knew Laredo and perhaps could find a good match for him. Teresa did find the perfect match, another black lab mix, Wiggles, and they were immediately inseparable. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, Wiggles died of a snake bite and sadly, once again, we were looking for a buddy for Laredo. I contacted Teresa and she found another black lab mix, Layla. Again, TCGC came through with a wonderful match for us and Laredo! TCGC will always be my 'go to' for a new member of our family! Please support this wonderful organization!
The owner of Tcgc animal league, Teresa Hoskins, is such a wonderful lady with an amazing heart and will do anything to help an animal in need. Ive adopted three dogs from her and she's always been fair and very helpful in every way. Tcgc is a fantastic rescue!!!❤❤❤❤
This non profit is really one that put the C in caring. They care so much about what they are doing. All of the animals are first checked out by a vet thoroughly. They carefully match up a person like me who wants to "adopt " a fur baby from them. They do follow up visits, they show real concern for the fur baby. Every animal I own now came from them and any future animals I will have will be from Tcgc for sure! Melissa Stallard
This is a wonderful rescue that loves and cares about animals ❤️ They do everything possible to find caring homes for their rescues!!! Let them help you find your new best friend

TCGC is wonderful! We got our little yorkie from them, he was already vet checked, up on his shots, neutered and groomed. They honestly love God's furry creatures and I can't imagine life without my little yorkie. He has fit right in our family and I have sent other people that were trying to find pets to them and will continue to do so.
I have had two dogs dropped off at my property and TCGC helped me by placing these dogs up for adoption. They were well taken care of. Examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, vaccinations, and microchipped. They were adopted by good families. I highly recommend this organization because they care about animals. Thank you TCGC.
My sweet girl Sugar is a TCGC gurl. When her family of 8 years cast her off, TCGC took her in and kept her safe until I could find her. She is 12 & a certified pet therapy dog now! I am thankful every day that TCGC brought us together.
Love the folks of TCGC! They take great care of animals and are such a passionate group! It was a pleasure to donate to help cover an eye surgery of one of their pets. TCGC does great things for animals!
I first became involved with TCGC (Taking Care of God’s Creatures) Animal League a few months ago when we had a sweet little dog in Greene County Animal Control that needed to get out. Animal Control is a government run office and animals are held for 5 days before being euthanized. By fostering with TCGC the sweet little dog, I named him Foster, was saved! I then transported Foster up to the Kingsport PetSmart where they host TCGC adoption events every Saturday. It was so much fun getting to meet other animal lovers, friends in rescue work, and to see so many people fuss over Foster. Foster was adopted by a wonderful family with children and when they first met him and played with him, I’ll never forget their words “this dog is PERFECT”! It was heartwarming and a little sad to see Foster go. I had shared my home with him for nearly 3 months. But I felt empowered because of the good work TCGC does. I think there are a great many “perfect” dogs out there just looking for their “perfect” person!
Since Foster, I’ve been able to pull a couple dozen dogs out of Animal Control and find them homes! I’m so grateful for the good work Teresa Hoskins & her husband Steve do to help the animals. They work tirelessly to rescue animals in need.
In 2005 my husband and I agreed to foster one of Thersa’s rescues while we waited for a trained service dog for my husband ( our first service dog had died 6 months earlier). Kassie arrived early one Saturday morning on a truck from Tenn.
We decided to give her some obedience training in order to help her get adopted..the long and the short of it is that Kassie was easy to train , we fell in love so we became “ foster failures”. Theresa has been supportive every step of the way and she co to use to check in on Kassie ( via email, Facebook) even though 11.5 years have passed since Kassie joined us. I remain eternally grateful
for Kassie’s presence in our lives and TCGC’s for saving her.
