Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals
Mission: Hawaiʻi Animal Kuleana Alliance cultivates the reciprocal relationship between our community and its animals by offering integrated services, cooperative networks, and disaster and emergency rescue services.
Results: Since its inception during the Kilauea Volcano eruption in 2018, HAKA has helped more than 2,000 animals and their parents with services including emergency rescue and care, transportation services, medical care, information & referral services, and more. HAKA continues to prepare for the next big emergency event by building relationships in the community, training staff and volunteers, and addressing the systemic community issues that become exacerbated during an emergency.
