Extremely noteworthy unique nonprofit that not only documents per organizations mission and purpose, but also holds ongoing community events including diversified social, educational, recreational and training activities for the benefit of the community at large. Dedicated staff, volunteers and Board go over and beyond in a professional and warm manner. I have been employed in the non-profit sector over a span of four decades, been involved in numerous roles from administrative to direct service practice, served on numerous Boards, and give IsPAD the highest commendation. ISPaD is one of the two NGOs that my family founded, each with an administrative headquarters based in NYC. The Indian Subcontinent Partition Documentation (ISPaD) Project is a ~small grassroots NGO that worked hard enough to earn a "home of its own" that is its office space within NYC. ISPaD has been perpetually expanding the scope of events & items made public at The ISPaD Project's Partition Studies Museum (on one floor of our office in Jamaica, Queens, NY). It should be in writing, not simply implied, that The ISPaD Project has been welcoming ~all sorts of contributions (tax-exempt monetary contributions are, of course, welcome), with the purpose of preserving history from areas that endured Partition, worldwide. An outpouring of support especially at events like our annual Partition Studies Conference, through papers submitted for journal publication, papers presented & discussed at the annual Conference, financial contributions, donations of items to be shared in our museum, and using various social media to share with others about how The ISPaD Project aids the preservation of the truths behind Partition(s) throughout the world...throughout human history. Contributions include artifacts, traditional dance displays, music performances, native food tastings, and everything a person/group of a society determines is indigenous and loves the opportunity to share their stories and cultures with the world. Our annual Partition Studies Conference was originally sponsored & held at SUNY Old Westbury's campus, academic center, as part of "Panther Pride" (homecoming week). We are still receiving university support but the annual conference is in our office building in Jamaica, NY. The recent conferences have been hybrid in-person & web-based because of Covid. Papers are presented & included in our annual conference summary about Partition everywhere, India, Korea, Iran, etc. ISPaD co-founders Dr. Sachi & Dr. Shefali Dastidar's recent academic tourist travels were tourists studying colonialism in Greece, Israel & Palestine, & Turkey. I AM EXCITED ABOUT A SOUVENIR THEY MADE SURE TO BRING BACK FOR ME & FOR ISPAD: STONES BEING GIVEN TO TOURISTS FROM A CHRIST BIRTHPLACE GROTTO CHURCH OF BETHLEHEM, PALESTINE! We now have a stone from the birthplace of Christ for display as a precious piece relevant to Partition including and pertaining to Israel, Palestine, etc. I do hope you find my souvenir brought for me as exciting as I do! Any other items relevant to Partition Studies interests would be great to genuinely hear about from anyone...our website is down, hacked again, as certain people don't like that we share all legitimate information. We are accurate and active on all other social media and, of course, welcome any support - financial, artifact & document donations, volunteers, relevant books & articles, social media usage, and anything to assist the efforts of The ISPaD Project nonprofit. The ISPaD Project is priceless. Thanks & Regards, Shuvo Dastidar
Review from Guidestar
I gotta say when I start, I do follow HIM but respect the attempts of this nonprofit that gives light on the persecution of my Christian Brothers and Sisters not as the goal of the Project but it comes out as part of it. This does work about India & I stumbled upon this organization as it as passion of a former classmate (now a FB friend) who sends out info and I figured I'd look.
When I looked I saw ISPAD as a unbiased, grassroots nonprofit whose purpose is to preserve & share history coming from and circling around a large event for mankind - with no specific "agenda" or perspective forced upon the factual data that they are able discover and make a colection of.
HISTORY UNALTERED &/OR EXCLUDING CERTAIN FACTS IF THEY "AREN'T IN LINE WITH THE **TRUTH** THAT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO SUPPORT A CERTAIN BELIEF SYSTEM.
I had to write this review. Thanks to you all who work there or support them too.
