I've been a very satisfied donor to Grassroots International for many years. I've had the chance to visit their program in Haiti. They have a terrific network of Haitian led partners on the ground. These groups do a good job of bridging two different types of action - providing essential services to families in need and advocating for structural change. So in the case of the quake - the groups with which they work are providing aid to families returning to the countryside - and preparing for spring planting - at the same time as they are advocating for a reconstruction plan built on reviving small farmers' livelihoods, not imported food aid. Highly recommended
