Before joining Hudson, I wasn't having a lot of luck finding a job by just answering job ads posted on job sites. I joined Hudson and it made all the difference! Hudson gave me my own career coach, with one on one instruction. I learned how to write a modern resume; marketing plan; how to answer job interview questions; how long I should take to answer a job interview question; and how to finish a job interview strong. I also learned that Networking is so important in the job search. After joining Hudson, I got the job that I wanted!! Thank you Hudson Job Search!!!

Hudson Job Search is a voluntary non-profit that is dedicated to assist unemployed and underemployed individuals in Northeast Ohio obtain their next position. What is unique about Hudson Job Search is that we offer 1-on-1 advising to our clients - in addition to regular networking meetings, scheduled expert speakers, and a website with many job search resources. I have been an advisor for nearly 10 years, working together with many other talented advisors, and have found this work very rewarding.

After being in business for over 40 years i felt a responsibility to share my hiring insights with others. After befriending a Hudson Job Search ( HJS ) Senior Advisor, he convinced me that my experience could benefit the HJS community. After serving as an Advisor for nearly 4 years, I only wish I knew of this organization while i was still in business, it would have saved me time & money to know I could have posted a position with this group with a high probability of interviewing solid candidates.

We have ~ 35 experienced professionals who unselfishly volunteer their time & expertise to assist the unemployed and under employed. We function as coaches, confidants, and employment therapists, who provide discretionary assistance to those in need of career path assistance.

Our clients pay nothing for this service and generally speaking they find a better position than their previous employment . Our track record is outstanding in this regard!

Great group of volunteers helping others during a very difficult time in thier careers finding a new job. This group helps the job searcher learn how to conduct a successful search.

I unexpectedly found myself without a job. Depressed and discouraged, I was directed to Hudson Job Search. I was initially reluctant because I didn't even know what I wanted to do. Through the tutelage of the President and other mentors, I was able to find a job with the potential to be a career and a network of people to encourage me and support me along the way. Hudson Job Search was invaluable in my job search. I was unsuccessful in landing a job on my own. Once I reached out to HJS, I was placed with an advisor. My advisor helped me polish my resume and cover letter and also worked on my interview skills. I also benefited from creating a marketing plan and networking and attending bi-weekly presentations. My advisor was with me every step of the way. I was able to reach out with questions. He held me accountable with my goals and kept my spirits up. I have been volunteering for Hudson Job Search since November of 2021 as an Advisor for the unemployed and underemployed. I was inspired by other Advisor stories of placing local professionals in their ideal jobs with one-on-one resume advice, practice interviews, networking tips and other skills and techniques to find the job they want, get the interview, ace the interview and negotiate their salary. I enjoy volunteering my time, helping with marketing and outreach and working with the other Advisors to help job seekers.
