I HAVE WATCH COACH TEACH THESE KIDS AT ALL AGES. I HAVE ALSO CAME TO HER CLASS JUST TO SEE IT FOR MYSELF. THE LEGENDS IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO KIDS OFF THE STREET AND DRUGS . COACH HICKS YOU ARE THE BEST.

Cardte Hicks gives everything she has to this organization and 'her kids!' They are not only getting the best basketball instruction, love & guidance from a Hall of Famer, they are getting life lessons from one who cares ! The kids love her as much as she loves them!!! She's living her passion and 'her kids' are reaping the rewards!!!

Legends Kids First is truly about the kids coming first. I have watched them all thrive and flourish as they develop their basketball skills, with coach Hicks. Her knowledge, compassion, sense of fair play and fun has created a safe place for these kids to be their best selves-wonderful!

Cardte… I’m sure you don’t remember me but about 20 years ago I was a single mom and I received a speeding ticket and couldn’t afford to pay it. So I opted to do community service.
I chose to work for your non profit gym located in your garage. You had a bunch of awesome kids that just loved hanging out with you…
You were so sweet to me and signed all of my paperwork so I didn’t have to come back. That helped me out so much!
I’ve thought so fondly of you for all these years.
Please know you touch people’s lives in such positive ways and I personally want to thank you!!!

Coach Hicks has worked with my son for 2 years now. He absolutely loves her and enjoys going to her clinics. We have seen significant improvement in how he plays since she started coaching him. She has helped him with basketball and also helps him cope with his emotions. Thank you so much coach Hicks!!

Coach hicks has been amazing with my 5 and 7 year old daughters. They absolutely love her…we have been going to her for 2 years and my kids have improved their basketball skills immensely… and they love the game. Also, coach hicks always takes time to personally bond with the kids.

Coach Hicks has touched so many kids in so many ways. Her love and passion has shown through with “The Legends Kids First”. She spends countless hours helping kids with confidence and fun times. Our two grandchildren, ages 5 and 7 have gained so much having Couch Hicks in their lives.. when playing basketball, they each are learning the skills of the game with the knowledge, excitement and love

I can’t think of a better investment of a child’s time and energy than with Coach Hicks and her many talents. These fortunate kids don’t just learn basketball skills from the best, they acquire self-esteem, self control, self discipline and a sense of self worth in the broader community. They learn team work and how to think on their feet. They learn respect for themselves and others, because that is what they receive. I have watched my two great nieces flourish in this program, making friends and sharing laughter every step of the way-and oh-they learn how to shoot a basket too!-������������������������������

How can you not love this organization. Simply wonderful coaches who volunteers every year to make a difference.

What more can I say about this programs. I have been so privileged to work with my younger sister Cardte. She has always been out going and so fun to watch her work with youth all over the world. Being able to follow her career has been amazing. She represents the kids today and how wonderful and blessed our family can say.....our youngest is a Hall of Famer.

Coach Hicks is the best! Her program brings kids together through a common love of basketball. Simply put she CARES! I always see her in the neighborhood checking on kids walking by or in the park. My daughter looks forward to practice every week! My family will always support coach!

The Legends Kids First organization is top notch. Being lead by the founder, who is probably the most passionate and loving individual I have ever met, is doing things the right way in our society.
Providing education to stop and recognize bullying on ALL levels towards ALL people is invaluable. Providing better health and exercise info to help others lead a healthier lifestyle is very important as well.

I worked with this organization and it was wonderful. They helped kids with sports. Nutrition, and taught them safety and how important learning was. If ever given the opportunity again I would help them again. They are great.

I live next store to Carte Hicks. Her generosity and kindness is wonderful. Examples of helpful the neighborhood kids: fishing rod for one kid to go fishing with his group, a young girl needed a computer and Carte gave her one. I met Cardte in 2018. Once I met Cardte, she has the personality of just an immediate friend. Always upbeat, always kind, constructive words to say. When she told me about Legends, I was very impressed and seeing how the neighborhood children gravitated towards her, well, I’ll just say people like Cardte are one of a kind, and my life was made much richer the day I met her. I see Legends Kids First as SUPER beneficial for kids, gaining motivation towards sports rather than indoor or video games.

The legends program is a great organization,Which help young Girls & Boy's tranform & transition into Strong,Loving,Intelligent teens..In these days & time with social media, cyber bullying, Our kid often need someone or somewhere to express their problems or view s of life..The legends have excellent staff that's well trained in such fields of behavior issues, tutoring, physical fitness,Self Improvement, mentorship,Over all it's just a wonderful program for our youth in today's world..I'm 100% Proud of the out come for which my kids have become more involved in school& Activities in our community..

I have been apart of the Legends since 2005. Watching Cardte interaction with youth and teens brought attention to wanting to be apart of this organization. Youth dealing with special needs, health issues and especially those with autism, I witness Cardte’s passion doing all she could to make a difference.

Every aspect of the camp is meticulously thought out. The kids have a blast in a structured, but thriving environment!

I am proud to say that I had the opportunity to volunteer as a coach for the youth during the sports camps. Having to been a part of this non-profit company was a game changer for me and working with the CEO of The Legends Kids First, Cardte Hicks was such an eye opener. I gained the confidence to excel in the work force to which has led me to greater opportunities throughout my work history. Kids first is more than just a slogan... It's their mission

I have known the founder for years. The positive impact the organization has had on so many youth is nothing short of amazing. The personal support and encouragement provided has provided my daughter a great experience and she has chosen to continue her volunteering experience with children.

The Legends organization is great for the youth. Kids are able to learn teamwork, social skills, and the fundamentals of basketball.

Totally awesome to watch how all the coaches work so well with the kids. Amazing

This nonprofit is totally for the kids. Wonderful people involved with this group. They are really great with the kids and the whole family.

Oh my when I first found out about this program, they help us with our son Daniel dealing with diabetes. The live and care and the program he was in made him feel better about himself and gain confidence. Today he is in High School as a member of the football team and has reversed his diabetes.

Cardte Hicks and Legends helped show my son the importance of friendship, team work, health, sports, motivation and mostly showing him, he can be anything he wanted to be. My son started going to her camp very young, he was one of the smallest kids with the biggest hearts. He was trying to shot 3 pointers before he could make layouts lol. She saw his heart and gave him a nickname "Larry Bird". After about 10 years, we still stay in touch. Thanks for everything. God Bless

I went to a basketball camp put on by this organization and it was the absolute best camp I have ever been to. Wish I could still go.

Cardte is so compassionate about helping kids. I see all the hard work and dedication she has put in. I donate to her cause when I can, because I know it's going to a good cause!!

The Legends Kids First is a great program that its the community involved in sports and healthy living starting with the kids in the community. I started helping with this group in high school and some time in college helping coach some of the camps held and helped with promoting the group to the people in the community. This is a wonderful program that truly helps change the lives of the youth for the better.

Hello my name is Tom Askins and I am very proud of this young lady who has shown passion for her program and giving back to many. What can I say about Cardte, she is a warm loving person that believes in giving back. Sure hope that someone will finally sponsor her programs with more than she has been giving. I have known her to put up her own money just to make sure her kids would be able to attend her camps for free. I wish her the best and yes I would volunteer anytime if asked.

As a former board member of this organization, it was a pleasure to have worked with Cardte Hicks. As she moves across the United States working with youth and giving back, I can only hope that her message will make a difference as she did here in Sacramento. Cardte Hicks has been an inspiration in my life. I worked with her program as one of her coaches and had the best time ever working with the youth basketball camps. If I could I would still be apart of this organization, however she pushed me to run my own 501C.3 to continue the work in disadvantage communities. Thank you Cardte for my success.

I was not aware of this program until my sister told me about the work she has been doing for youth and seniors. I decided to volunteer and what a joy to work with the youth in her program. I just thank God that she is continuing with her mission to make a difference and that I can volunteer.

I have known the work of this organization for many years. The CEO is dedicated to effecting positive change in the lives of young people in CA. This organization gives back to the community and the children of every community in which they become involved. The Legends Kids First, Inc. is dedicated to the health and mentoring of youth.

The Legends, Kids First does excellent work in the entire Sacramento community. I have been to Healthy Foods eating camps in Rancho Cordova and exercise camps in Oak Park and Sacramento. Their entire purpose is to promote healthy kids which fights the epidemic of obesity and diabetes.

The Volunteer Center of Sacramento has worked with this agency for the past several years. These people are miracle workers, friendly, helpful...everything you look for in a non-profit organization.
