Mission: Food for His Children's mission is for individuals, families and communities to become all they were created to be. We seek to eradicate extreme poverty in East Africa, one family, one dairy goat at a time. Check out Bernadetta's story here https://youtu.be/AaMM1_6JXbc or in the videos on our page. Why community development and not just relief? Simple. Relief, though temporarily helpful, is a quick-fix. Community development addresses the root of the problem, while fostering empowerment and transforming lives. We start with one materially-poor family. We provide them a dairy goat along with veterinary support and agriculture training. We offer spiritual sustenance through the Gospel. We help them set goals. We watch them succeed. A goat is more than just an animal; it’s like an efficient engine. Goats provide up to four liters of rich milk a day, which initially is used to sustain families, providing much-needed nutrition. Their manure fertilizes crops which doubles the harvest. Eventually, families can sell goat milk and use that income to send children to school, build safe and structurally-sound homes, start independent businesses and pay for medical expenses.

I was with the US group that went to Tanzania in March of 2024, and I was amazed at what I saw. The things that Jesus is doing for FFHC and their families is awesome! It was a very fulfilling trip and I hope to go back sometime to see more and more things that Jesus is doing there not just for all the families, but for the FFHC staff/workers as well. They are a phenomenal, hard working crew that is doing wonders for their families!

During my recent trip with Food for His Children in Karatu, Tanzania, I experienced a profound reinforcement of my trust in Jesus Christ. I saw Jesus working through the leadership team and staff of FFHC, consistently pouring out love at every turn. I saw Jesus in the joy, optimism, resilience and determination of the Tanzanian families amongst the harshest circumstances. I saw Jesus guiding the team and families, not by creating dependency or doing the work that could be done by the family or community, but by empowering these communities to create lasting change.

Through the FFHC sustainable practices and education, we helped families help themselves break free from the cycle of poverty. As the families worked with FFHC, I watched them grow, not only financially but also in self esteem and self reliance. This experience deeply touched my heart and reinforced my commitment to the transformative power of how Jesus taught us to live, through love, faith and hope... but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) This experience has been invaluable, reaffirming my belief in the importance of trusting in Jesus and inspiring me to lead with love.

All the progress and contributions that FFHC gives to the community are amazing, they truly make you realize the power of just 1 USD (so if you are hesitating to contribute, don't hesitate and go for it, every cent will cause wonders). I have seen FFHC growth over the years and it is amazing. Things don't happen painlessly (truly hard work was required, risky work more than once too). Kerrie Holschbach ( founder) is fully committed to the cause and you can see and feel that, she truly loves the community and can't let them down, you will always see FFHC moving forward and further, so do not hesitate to volunteer with them and see the real social impact.

I’m a Board member with Food for His Children and have been volunteering with this organization for over 13 years. I can’t say enough about the powerful work they do in equipping families to overcome material poverty. They have case managers that come alongside the families to set goals and realize their dreams. They provide training and ongoing support around business development and management, savings groups, discipleship, animal husbandry, agriculture, health, and optimal environments. Food for His Children is a great organization that is transforming entire communities in rural Tanzania!

Food for His Children is a great organization that partners with individuals, families, and communities in rural Tanzania to help them identify their resources and skills to overcome material poverty. I’ve been volunteering with them for the past 12+ years and have first hand accounts of the amazing work they are doing! Starting with the loan of a dairy goat, followed by collaboration, education, and fellowship, entire communities are using their gifting to be all that God intended for them to be! FFHC is driven by Tanzanian staff who do an amazing job and are crucial in helping the families they serve set and achieve their goals.

This organization is an amazing example of love and thoughtful support for the impoverished families of TZ, teaching agricultural skills that provide food and raise the standard of living for hundreds of families. The long-term planning is well thought out, seeking to become a self-sustaining organization through local entrepreneurial growth and pay-it-forward goat-breeding and creamery sales programs. Greatly deserving of our support!

I've been volunteering with FFHC for about 12 years and experiencing the impact that this program has on peoples lives is amazing. I've personally seen someone who felt the world left them behind to being a top, respective member of the community due to the FFHC staff and the program working with them to pursue their dreams. Real change in a persons life takes time, and FFHC takes that time to continually encourage and support the participants in the program.

I've been volunteering with FFHC for about 8 years now and have found that, while they aren't perfect, they strive to assist the poor people of Karatu, TZ in the best, most helpful manner of community development. Every year, more families are requesting help from FFHC; which is great, however the organization is struggling to get in funds fast enough to hire more local staff, train them and perform God's work in the best manner possible. I have been to TZ about 6 times in the past 8 years and love meeting with the families, understand their difficulties and seeing many of them grow out of poverty into a lifestyle that they deserve and want. Probably the most challenging part of what FFHC does is due to how they meet the needs of the community; community development takes time for change to effectively set in and, contrary to western thought, we want it now and quick--which has proven an ineffective long-term method in eliminating generational poverty. Bless this organization for sticking to their mandates and methods as it is our duty to walk with those that are struggling to walk on their own and help them realize their full, God-given potential.

Now celebrating their 15th year, Food for His Children has reached over 600 families in rural Tanzania. By gifting a goat to qualifying families, FFHC creates relationships with them and continues to work side by side with families. It's not an organization that just gives something to the poor, but rather they help set goals, provide trainings, assist in creating savings groups, and more for all their families. The staff works hard to listen to what their families are struggling with and helps with solutions. Families are required to do a pass on/ pass back so others can then also move out of poverty as well. Recently, the first phase of their farm and innovation center has been completed. This will allow continued trainings and new ones, a place for visitors to Tanzania to witness first hand goat products and more, allowing even more families to become all that God has created them to be.

I have been supporting Food For His Children for 3 years. I am a volunteer, donor, have been able t travel and teach our staff, and I am a board member. After working with other international non-profits, I found one that I believed in how they were empowering the people of Tanzania. Others choose to send teams and to do things for people. FFHC empowers them with a goat. They walk alongside the Tanzanian people to set and reach goals. Their goals are to send their children to school, to build a better home, and become all God created them to be in a country that has very little. I love the personal notes that we get from the families we help support, and the amount of updates and videos make me feel very connected. Food For His Children is an amazing organization, and I am proud to be a part of it.

I am truly inspired by the incredible impact that Food for His Children has had on the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities in rural Tanzania.

Over the past 15 years, they have played a pivotal role in community development, successfully lifting over 500 families out of poverty.Their commitment is evident in serving more than 40 communities, providing clean water to over 11,000 people last year alone. Additionally, the organization's dedication to education and empowerment is noteworthy — supplying over 1,000 girls with reusable sanitary pads and educational support, and offering street business school education to those earning less than a dollar a day, enabling them to start businesses with minimal capital.

Food for His Children is not just a charity; it's a catalyst for positive change, fostering self-sufficiency and transforming lives in tangible ways. I am proud to support such an impactful organization.

As a volunteer and board member, for Food For His Children, I have been able to travel to Tanzania three times, to see the impact they are making in rural Tanzania. FFHC doesn’t go in to fix a problem, they are able to go in and walk side-by-side with the recipients of a dairy goat. They have them set goals, work within their own village to be part of a entrepreneurship group, and a savings group just to name a few things.FFHC change lives with a dairy goat, allowing people to be all that God has created them to be. As a volunteer, I am able to pray for our families, meet them, and continue to support them in their journey. Relationships are built, and children are loved on, when we visit. Many times, having a dairy goat, provide families the money to send their children to school, to increase their health with the milk from the goat, and to break the chain of poverty for so many. My heart is filled with joy when I meet our families, and listen to their stories pray with them, and remind them, that they are a child of God, and loved by Him. I look forward to traveling to Tanzania at least once a year to continue to see the impact that Food For His Children has on so many.

Food for his Children (FFHC) helps the poorest of the poor in rural Tanzania, starting with a gift of a dairy goat together with training about how to care for the goats along with agricultural training to grow food. FFHC then send field officers to meet with families regularly to help them set goals to achieve their goals of building a brick house, sending their children to school, or running a small business. FFHC also provides entrepreneurship training, savings groups, medical insurance and training to make a healthy home with latrines, hand washing stations and water purification devices!

Just this year, FFHC completed Phase 1 of its Farm and Innovation Center to work towards self-sufficiency for its programs. The farm will breed goats instead of buying them, as well as training families in animal husbandry and agricultural techniques. The completed center will have demonstrations for making a healthy home, a community center as well as office space for FFHC Tanzanian staff.

To date, FFHC has helped 627 families become what God intended them to be!

I was scheduled to travel to Tanzania with FFHC in March of 2020. While we didn't get to go then, in God's perfect timing we are scheduled to travel in just a few weeks. In the meantime, I've had a front row seat to this organization for over 2 years now. I've been witness to how FFHC has handled the COVID crisis and has continued to journey with the families in rural Tanzania. I love to get updates from FFHC and I so appreciate that they are constantly looking for ways to involve Tanzania families to empower them to reach their goals- FFHC does WITH the people in their program rather than doing FOR them...

A very meaningful experience!
The Food for His Children is much more than a "Diary Goat Project". FFHC has developed a powerful and meaningful ways to fight poverty among many vulnerable families in Tanzania using an holistic approach, As a capacity building and partnership person from The Small Tanzania Inc. I had a two different days visit at FFHC where I had a time to learn the FFHC programs and also had a productive partnership discussion with the team. FFHC is sensitive to the government and international guidelines around their work. Honorina, Chris and Samson were so knowledgeable about their work and very welcoming. I highly recommend the Food For His Children Organization; it's a must do when you want to volunteer/work or fund a program/project in Tanzania.

I have worked with Food For His Children for 11 years. FFHC has a worthy mission to empower the people of rural Tanzania to be all that they were created to be. Transforming communities and ending extreme poverty is a generational process. FFHC has impacted 100's of lives and made a big difference in the community by walking along side the people, offering a goat, providing education and support. Change is slow and hard but it is happening one person, one family at a time. Through FFHC more families have healthier meals, more children are able to go to school, and more people now have hope for the future.

Food for His Children (FFHC), a non-profit NGO which works towards equipping children, families and communities to be all God created them to be. Its work is guided by faith and scriptures. Most recently I had a chance to visit their offices in Karatu, Tanzania and was overwhelmed by the wonderful work they do. In the last few years, FFHC have helped many people and church leaders in Tanzania using their concept of empowering the rural communities.

Their most effective way to empowering the local communities is through sustainable goat farming. It begins with one goat farm and later on blossoms into a community of sustainable goat farms. The FFHC’s holistic community development aims at seeing entire villages empowering each other to live out their gifts and passions. More importantly, FFHC wants to see communities who are able to care for themselves and each other in ways that honor and glorify God.

Of their most recent project, FFHC has recently been working to establish a farm project, with a goal of facilitating its work in the area. The farm will contain a local store for FFHC to sell products produced on the farm and a training center to offer hands-on education to program recipients and community members. FFHC is currently looking for help in order to develop this farm. You can help them out towards this goal by visiting their website at https://foodforhischildren-bloom.kindful.com/

Food for His Children is the result of it's founder risking taking a mission trip to Tanzania, East Africa, 15 years ago. Her heart was opened and enlarged by the hope she saw in the eyes and voices of the people there. Hope for a better future for their family and themselves. But how? Kerrie Holschbach prayerfully identified a means to give them a better life. Give them a milk producing goat.
Specific requirements come with the goat. Training on care, building a shelter, obtaining proper feed, and distribution of milk. Completion of requirements leads to a sense of responsibility, achieved goals, improved self worth and food for their children. Excess milk can be sold or bartered for other needs. The program allows for participants to gain additional goats which has allowed children to go to school, access to health care, safer homes to be built and better communities. Food For His Children is an amazing and outstanding program meriting wide support and recognition.

The founders and staff have such enormous hearts for improving the lives of the poorest families in Tanzania and giving them means to support themselves and better their lives. Through FFHC, God is meeting people's physical, financial and spiritual needs and helping dreams come true.

I've always been impressed with the organization's resourcefulness, perseverance and vision. With founders and board members from the U.S., FFHC has continually overcome unforeseen obstacles, cultural differences and business requirements in Tanzania to scale its operations and serve more people.

I continue to give to FFHC because I know my donations are making a difference in ways I cannot personally. Thank you, FFHC, for that opportunity.

This is my favorite mission because they do so much to connect me to the missions with their work on Facebook and other communications. I feel like I know exactly how my money is being spent. What they do is train families how to care for a goat, and then give them a goat. The families served do not seem to be starving, but they do not get enough protein. When the children add goat milk to their diets their health dramatically improves.

One day I went to interview Pastor Kerrie for a video about Food For His Children. The last thing on TV and I headed out the door was a commercial for an expensive SUV vehicle and how we all must have one. Then Pastor Kerrie told me about how people's lives in Tanzania can be helped tremendously with just the addition of a goat. And it doesn't cost very much to help an entire family with just a goat. I went from day-dreaming about a new Range Rover to just wanting to help a family far away. Thank you, Food For His Children, for all that you do to make this possible. FFHC starts by giving a goat along with veterinary support and agricultural training. Each goat changes the lives of these families by providing milk to consume and to sell for income. In addition, FFHC transforms communities by helping them maintain a strong relationship with God and one another.

Volunteering for FFHC has been one of the most rewarding and an amazing learning experience of my life. Kerrie and Rob are appreciative, caring and encouraging of volunteers. It is inspiring to see how many were affected by their phenomenal work and the difference they are making. I am very proud to be part of this organization that has such an impact.

Am one among thousands individual who benefit from this project, i manage to work with this nonprofit organization for not less than 5 years before starting my Law firm so i know the project very well.
Just to comment that people change and we need to become party of this changes as you have been blessed to have what you have so to save the surrounding community not only in Tanzania by in the whole world.
As we depend on God, they also depend on God as we pray they also pray but God make everyone in this world valuable, we have doctors for treatment, engineering for construction, Pastors for faith, military, police for taking care of our security, Lawyer, accountants, business people, politicians, community server, social workers and so on. All this is to make the world nice place to live by depending in each one.
We depend in each they depend from you and you depend from them to have the blessing, all we are doing is for God creation. Let’s know they depend on us and we need them to see the God, we real need them.
They’re not poor because they love to be that way NO, BIG NO the circumstance and environment made them that way.
FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN come alongside the circumstance and that environment, by starting with training the better use of environment to master the circumstance that make them poor and by giving them dairy goat for sustainable, but them alone as FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN they cannot make it, we need to participate to that changes.
Let us go alongside FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN just because we all cannot go at a site/village to help and Gadget the change, we need to trust the work doing by FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN and we participate though donating to them so they can go and save those community.
The community is blessing but they need you to show the way, Donate and you will be showing the way to make their children go to school, their life to be better than it was, to have better treatment, to enjoy being in his blessing word that your enjoying to.
Am going to DONATE TO FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN and am encourage you to do the same.

Love these guys. Have done volunteer work with them both remotely and at ground level. Not only do they make a difference to people's lives in the now, but I love how they look at the big picture continually re-evaluating how to be more effectively sustainable, always aiming for the people's best in mind. Great work FFHC!!!

I have volunteered with Food For His Children in Tanzania, Africa since 2008. Food For His Children helps the rural poor in the Karatu District by coming along side of them and helping them improve living conditions through the micro-loan of dairy goats. Families are receiving education in animal husbandry, agriculture, healthy living and long-term goal planning. Many communities are starting small business as a result of Food For His Children work. The organization is changing lives of individuals, families, and communities; impacting generations. I encourage you to learn more about the work they are doing through holistic community development. www.FoodForHisChildren.org
