Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals, Veterinary Services

Mission: Saving Graces 4 Felines was founded in 2002 to help the many abandoned, stray and feral cats barely surviving around us, in less than desirable conditions. Our area, like many, has an issue with pet abandonment at the end of each semester and by people moving on from short-term rentals. Hurricanes Floyd and Florence exacerbated the problem, when escaping humans had to leave countless pets to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, the animals have learned the dumpsters of our many restaurants are reliable sources of food. Our goal is to reduce animal suffering in our communities by rescuing these cats and keeping them healthy and happy in foster families while they wait for their forever homes. We continue our Trap/Neuter/Return program for feral cat population control, our periodic low cost Spay/Neuter days for low-income family pets and our dedication to education.

We adopted twice from Saving Graces 4 Felines--2 cats each time, 14 years apart. Each time the caring and thoughtful volunteers of Saving Graces helped us choose the perfect cats for our family (single person the first time and 2 adults, an active, enthusiastic 5-year-old child, and 2 older dogs the second time). They answered our questions, listened to our needs and preferences, gave us plenty of time to meet our prospective family members, and provided helpful guidance about how to help our new cats settle into our home. We believe Saving Graces 4 Felines is a wonderful, ethical organization with an important mission.
