Mission: The purpose of n. E. W. Curative rehabilitation, inc. Is to establish and operate programs and services to assist and support persons including individuals with disabilities, older adults and their families, youth who are at risk, and others experiencing barriers to the full development of their potential to achieve employment, to develop the ability to live independently, or to pursue social development, recreational activities, transportation, and self-sufficiency. N. E. W. Curative rehabilitation, inc. Supports programs aimed at helping people overcome those barriers.
Programs: N. E. W. Curative rehabilitation, inc. Conducts activities to assist and support persons including individuals with disabilities, older adults and their families, youth who are at risk, and others experiencing barriers to the full development of their potential with the following activities: adult day care; supportive services; day services; employment and training. Adult day care provides up to 10. 5 hours per day of activities, assistance, and supervision for persons with disabilities, elderly, and for people with dementia. Supportive services includes: wraparound services which is one on one assistance provided to adults and youth ranging from housekeeping, transportation, bathing, medication monitoring to teaching daily living skills, mentoring, and tutoring; assisted bathing and showers are provided on a fee for service basis. Day services includes: a one day per week program for younger adults with disabilities; adult day treatment, a facility based day treatment, highly structured, goal oriented service provided to improve social, cognitive, and emotional and employment related functioning; literacy, a goal directed individualized educational program designed to maximize independence and vocational preparation; mind movers, for persons with early memory loss. The goal of which is to provide participants with information and tools to keep the mind and body active, to maintain skills and abilities, and to achieve goals for independence. Employment and training includes: job placement, assisting individuals with disabilities to find employment. Including assessing skills, creating resumes, job search, interviewing skills and acting as a "bridge" between participants and potential employers; supported employment, staff supervised employment within the community which can be short or long term and generally involves a job coach; extended employment, production work opportunity in a competitive environment with support through prosolutions; work emphasis, production work opportunity for program participants unable to work at a competitive rate; work adjustment training, a treatment/training process utilizing counseling and concurrent work activities to assist individuals in understanding the requirements and demands of work including modifying and developing appropriate work habits, attitudes and behaviors; senior services of america, part time employment for persons over the age of 55 and who are low income the goal of which is to find un-subsidized work within a year.
