I've been a board member for 6 years and a Adult Mentor for 9 years. Partners makes a definite difference in the life of a child. As an adult mentor, you now have a new friend and you have a sense of belonging to another person who looks to you for guidence and someone to confide in. As a mentor, you have the opportunity to assist in shaping the future of the childs life. The Partners organization consists of people who love children and who care deeply about the future of each child. The Partners Board of Directors is active and each board member participates in many activities throughout the year that benefits the kids.

I was asked to be a board member two years ago. I would still be a board member if I did not move out of the grand valley. It was the best experience of my life, personally and professionally. I don't think one could be a part of a better organization. Partners is a model for how a non profit or public/private organization, for that matter should be run. The people this organization touches will be changed for the better.

Mesa County Partners is one of those unique "for impact" organizations that has become a standard by which other like or aspiring organizations is measured. It has superb professional leadership that not only do their jobs, but "own" the results of what they do. The CEO, Joe Higgins is an iconic leader to whom very few, if any, can refuse or not respond positively. The children of Mesa County who require and have been recipients of the many services that Partners provides have been extremely well served. Countless lives have been greatly improved and for many, futures saved from ruin because of the Partners of Mesa County organization. The strength of the professionals transmits to the many volunteers who are involved with partners - they believe in its mission, are excited about its vision and future and are committed to making a positive impct on young people who need it. Being involved with the Partners organization is a privilege -- what more need be said? Joe Breman

The Mission of Mesa County Partners is to make a difference in the lives of young people by helping them
develop a positive self-image, a sense of belonging and an acceptance of responsibility for their actions. After over thirty years of involvement with the organization as a member of the Board of Directors and Foundation Board, I can definitely attest to the fact that the Mission is being met. This well run organization is staffed with individuals who truly believe in and live the mission statement in their daily interaction with challenged youth of our community. They make a significant different in the lives of those with whom they interact! I is an honor to be involved with such a meaningful organization.
