I was given the opportunity to foster 3 of Rotten Rotties pups. The trio…Dio, Metallica and Queen. And oh my goodness, what an amazing experience! They have been so entertaining. It’s been really neat to see their personalities, their sibling interaction, their playfulness and their puppy routines. I’ve already needed to loosen their collars a couple of times, they are getting so big in just the short time I’ve had them.
Metallica is a lover. He is sweet, gentle, aloof and sensitive. He will definitely be someone’s forever lovebug. His personality certainly is shining through. He needs reassurance but once he knows he can trust you, he is in your pocket, and looking for belly scratches. He does not miss a meal, matter of fact he likes to occasionally lay down to eat. He is such a good boy
Queen is a curious, confident, yet a cautious girl. She too loves to be loved. She loves her toys, the water dish and the water hose. She will watch your every move and give you a mimic show. I have a feeling she is going to be someone’s favorite adventure companion.
Dio. Well, she’s a character in her own. She’s itty bitty but mighty. This girl has NO fear and rules the roost. She is like a flying sugar glider. When I’m lucky, I’ll get the occasional cuddle up next to me moment.
We are still working on potty training, definitely not there yet but they will catch on with some patience and more training. All I have to say, is thank goodness Frys is having a sale on Bounty the quicker picker upper. They all sit when asked, use the doggie door and are getting more comfortable using the doggie ramp.
I’m going to truly miss this Trio but I know Ms. Shelly has picked the perfect homes for these perfect pups. I understand why her application is so thorough and her selections are very particular and well thought out. These pups deserve so much love and attention, cause I know they will give it right back.
Rotten Rottie Rescue - Thank you for what you do and thank you for letting me part of a great Rottie loving team.
Shelly runs the best dog shelter I have ever experienced.
After filling out a questionnaire meant to determine whether or not I could take care of a Rottweiler, I went out to her place and picked out a young adult Rottie. She brought him to my place a few days later and did a last check as to the suitability of the house for the dog, then went through the initial intro of the dog into the house.
After a few weeks, I wanted more training and she recommended a trainer, who worked out very well. She loves all her dogs and goes out of her way to make sure that the new dog, and owner, are settling in well together. She also knows her dogs, and strives to let prospective owners know their actual personalities and quirks, which makes it easier to judge if there is a good match.
I would definitely get another dog from Rotten Rottie Rescue. They are great!

We have watched the great work Rotten Rottie's does for a couple of years. We adopted our male, Max, from them earlier this year and he's been a great addition to our family. We appreciate the fact the they don't adopt out of state and work tirelessly to save and match these dogs to their best forever home. They don't just place the dogs, they actually work at finding the best possible fit. Keep up the good work!!
I rescued a 4 month old Rottweiler mix. She is the love of my life and I couldn’t be happier about the adoption process. Rotten Rottie Rescue asked me a lot of questions to ensure my rescue and I would be a good fit. In addition, they made sure I could provide a good home for my rescue and had everything she needed. Thank you, Rotten Rottie Rescue!!!
We adopted our first Rotten Rottie in February of 2018. Her name was Flower and she became the light of my life. Rotten Rottie Rescue gave her a second chance and I am so appreciative for it. In 2019 we decided to get a 2nd Rottie and adopted Thumper. This organization takes the need of the dog before anything else and provides a safe place for them to recuperate if needed. When and if we decide to get another Rottie it will be from this rescue.
We fostered, then adopted our female Rottie from this organization. From the review and application process, the care, dedication and love of breed from this group was exceptional. The network of fostering homes, the outreach or volunteers to save endangered Rotties, and the resources brought to bear to provide medical and emergency medical services is second to none. Leadership and love - Rotten Rottie Rescue Inc performs "great work" in pursuit of rescuing, healing and providing the best possible homes to this breed.
I am really not sure where to begin as we have been working with this rescue for over 10 years. We have adopted 2 Rotties, Dillion over 10 years ago, and Bella 2 years ago. Shelly is one of the most dedicated people I know. Not everyone can do what she does. She does whatever it takes to save a rottie from getting them out of the pound, where they will be euthanized, to taking a lost rottie and finding a home for them. If they are sick or injured she doesn't care, she takes them, and I know that she has more times than I can count, been with them 24/7 until they are on the right track to recovery. She will go without, take money out of her own pocket, to care for them. I am always amazed at what she does to make this rescue work. Some people get upset that she doesn't let out of state adopt. Not everyone cares for these dogs like they should. She cannot help them if they go out of state, and then get dumped somewhere. You cannot run a rescue of this size without the dedication that she has. There are not enough words or stars that I can give because she needs a ton of them for all the work that her and the rescue does. If you need anything she is there, always. Dillion at the age of 7 became diabetic. He was on human insulin. Human insulin is very, very expensive. Shelly was able to help us get folks that have leftover (still valid dates)insulin to donate to the rescue to help us with cost. Now, who does that? He was on insulin for 3 years, and Shelly helped us every step of the way. I could go on and on, just such a gift that anyone that loves Rottweilers has such a loving rescue to work with.
