I ran into the organizers at a local event where I was volunteering one day. In a short time thereafter, I was signing myself up to help out with their operations over in Gilbert. They are the coolest, nicest folks around. The ones in charge are doing an awesome job in almost every measurable way. I look forward to my time every week helping out at the ranch, and to see what antics the horses are up to. Not sure how long I will be an active part in this group, but I will for sure be a promoter and supporter of their cause.
Volunteering at USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation has been the most rewarding activity i have ever experienced. Helping to conserve the breed through, community and school education, research and outreach programs have been extremely rewarding. Hope to serve them for many years to come.
I am a past Board member and volunteer until I moved to Colorado. Now I continue to volunteer each winter when I come to spend time in AZ. The Director, Board members, and volunteers of the USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation are all amazing people who I am proud to work with as we work to save this at risk breed. I has been my honor and privilege to serve in many volunteer capacities with the organization including office support, events, fundraising, and of course and best of all, the care, feeding and grooming of the 6 magnificent Clydesdales at the ranch. Our mission to save these beautiful and gentle horses with public and classroom education, presentation and demonstrations is critical to ensure a future for this breed. I have never worked with a more dedicated, compassionate, and considerate group of volunteers. I hope to continue for years to come.
I am on the Board of Directors at USACPF. We started this nonprofit organization to help the at risk Clydesdale Breed. It is amazing to me that so many people know and love these horses, but have no idea how fast they are disappearing. I have met some truly remarkable, caring, and committed people through USACPF. I enjoy being with the volunteers and these magnificent horses. Our horses touch so many lives. They have met with countless children, adults and students, many of whom have never seen a horse in real life, let alone touched one. It is heartwarming to see kids light up when they touch them or to hear a retired farmer talk about using them in the "old days". I feel very honored to be working with such wonderful people and horses.
The USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation is one of the most rewarding experiences that I think that I have ever done in my life! From learning about the Clydesdales to caring for them, learning how to take care of them, getting to know their gentle spirit, but most of all understanding how important it is that they remain here on earth. This beautiful breed is on its way to extinction with less than 5000 left in the world. As a volunteer I heard that and couldn't believe it! First thought was "I didn't know that" 99% of the people that we tell say this. Our foundation is here to keep them around! The way we do this is to continue to go to schools to educate our younger generation, reach out to the public with one on one experiences, research, along with getting up close at our ranch in Gilbert AZ. We invite all to get to know us and our Clydesdales! Visit us at www.usacpf.org You will be changed for life!!
I am proud to say that I have been a volunteer for USACPF for several years now and I see how dedicated all the volunteers are to this cause. There are many opportunities to serve and they are varied. Anywhere from working one on one with the horses (feeding, grooming and caring for) to helping at and organizing fundraisers and in my particular case, working in their office doing much needed clerical work. USACPF is community based and prides itself on exposing these wonderful horses to that same community through parades, and local get togethers where adults and children can visit and learn about the Clydesdales.
USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation has been an incredibly rewarding volunteer opportunity. All of the volunteers are very welcoming and share the same passion...to save the Clydesdale's! They are very good about allowing you to incorporate any skills you wish to use or any good ideas you have to spread the word. I have never felt so appreciated in my volunteer career. I absolutely love it here and plan on spending many more years educating the public on the extinction of Clydesdale's.
