I have enjoyed volunteering for this organization for over 20 years. Great opportunity to share a piece of Minnesota history with people from around the world.

This is an outstanding piece of history that brings back the feel of travel over one hundred years ago. Interesting commentary on the history of the steamboat Minnehaha and the area around the lake. The weather was great and everyone should take a ride on this wonderful boat.

Fairly new to the area, I discovered this historical boat ride and fell in love with its charm! Some days I rode with friends and other times I wore my headphones and listened to relaxation music while riding. The stories that are shared are filled with history and help you realize the miracle of how this very boat was once sunk and then revived to live on! It is my dream in a few years to have the time to volunteer. This past summer I rode a boat off Hilton Head in South Carolina. To be honest, it lacked the charm of the Minnehaha. It ranks up on my top ten list of places to make sure I bring my summer visitors!

The boat was wonderful. The trip was exciting. It is strongly encouraged for anyone with any interest in boats, history or the local area to take part in any excursion. The staff is very informative and experienced. You can tell they have great pride in their work and what they do. 5*** ratings and a big thank you to all who keep the boat afloat.

An outstanding restoration and a well-run operation. A page from the past, presented simply but effectively by using the boat for the purpose it was built for--trips on the lake. Wish I lived closer; I'd be on every weekend.

We make this an annual tradition. So relaxing and we enjoy seeing the amazing houses along the lake shore. We usually see a loon on the water too.

MLM keeps alive a tradition begun almost two centuries earlier when excursion steamboating first came to the communities along the Upper Mississippi River. The devoted crew of the Steamboat Minnehaha always make for a delightful ride.

When I first moved to Excelsior I learned about the Steamboat Minnehaha and took one of the first one-hour cruises of the year. It is a GREAT way to tour Lake Minnetonka, the boat is beautiful - stunning really - and it is fascinating to learn how they recovered and restored this boat which was part of the streetcar system until the 1920s. I take all my visiting friends and family on the Steamboat. If you have kids they might get to help steer the ship! The volunteers are great, the tour is interesting, and I love hearing the bells - which sound like a streetcar - and the wonderful horn!
