Erie Gymnastics Center Parents Association

Target demographics: Our mission is to financially and emotionally support the efforts of our young gymnasts as they strive for their gymnastics dreams. We help & support both Men's & Women's Artistic Gymnasts to attend the State, Regional, and National Championships each year.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In addition to helping over 75 gymnasts attend their State Championship and above competitions, EGCPA also was the recipient of 3 Major Awards given by the Erie Sports Commission for our positive economic impact on Erie for Sports Tourism. in 2019 we were the first recipient and presented the prestigious "Ron Sertz" Award for lifetime achievement work in Sports Tourism. It was noted that we generated over 1 million dollars in revenue for Erie from our Stars & Stripes Competition. In addition to this EGCPA has supported and now has donated over $100,000.00 to local 9/11 charities. EGCPA has donated to VA Hospital, Volunteer Fire Depts. Veterans Miracle Center of Erie, Fallen Soldiers Picnic, Pittsburgh Inn Care Packages for active soldiers... and many more. Each year we select a 9/11 charity as our 'cause' in an effort to support and draw attention to other worthwhile charities of this nature.

Programs: EGCPA is perhaps most recognized for hosting the annual Stars & Stripes Coed Gymnastics Invitational at the Bayfront Convention Center. This competition - founded in the aftermath of 9/11 - has grown to become one of the largest Coed Gymnastics competitions on the East Coast with over 2,000 competitors each year. The proceeds of this competition go to pay entry fees, travel costs... for athletes qualifying to the State, Regional, and National Championships. EGCPA also bids for and hosts USA Gymnastics PA State Championships Competitions in Erie.
