Programs: Emergency solutions grant program - designed to prevent or overcome homelessness. Advocacy outreach provides a day shelter/resource center; pays rent or utility arrears to prevent families from losing their housing and pays security deposits/first month rent to house families who are homeless. Family Literacy program--assists immigrant parents to learn English; early childhood education to prepare non-English speaking children for school; teach parents to become partners in their children's schooling.
austin community college literacy program - to assist adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency; and to assist adults who are parents to become full partners in the educational development of their children.
various other programs - the organization provides similar rental assistance, utility assistance, and educational programs in amounts beyond the above federal funding, and for individuals who might not meet all grant eligibility requirements.
