I met Char in the vet clinic when I had to bring one of my kitties into the clinic. She was there with one of her rescues. Very friendly & outgoing! She shared some stories about the animals she & her husband care for, and how they get the animals. What I love is they it is a no-kill shelter/rescue! Most of the animals they take in, stay there! They want to make sure that the animals continue to be in good hands and don't go back to living an unsafe life or a be in an environment where they won't thrive because they lack love, attention, quality food, shelter, veterinary care, etc. Not only do they take in dogs and cats, but also chickens, horses, pigs, goats, etc. They love ALL animals!! They are good people with Big hearts! They welcome visitors, as well as volunteers & are happy to share their love of animals with the community by educating others by posting information online, etc. Just wonderful people!
Jeff & Char through the years I have seen bend & stretch when they were beyond stretched to rescue an animal in dire need. The love & care provided to each & every animal is beyond amazing. If everyone on this earth had an ounce of their compassion, the world would be different for all the animals in it.

I am enamored with how all animals at Broken Roads are truly loved and cared for. A stray Mama cat and kittens found shelter and were hiding in one of the farms buildings, they did not go unnoticed and were all spayed and neutered and given all their necessary shots, all of them are living a happy life on the farm, hiding less and trusting more as they open up to the love of humans. Char & Jeff have a natural knack with animals and give their heart and soul and make financial sacrifices to keep their rescue going. No animal goes unoticed or cared for that crosses their path... Truly amazing people with amazing hearts.
This sanctuary has saved many animals with their unselfish love, accommodations, food and veterinary care.
These folks are the kindest, most compassionate folks I’ve met. They will do everything they can for the animals they save. Top notch rescue!
Broken Roads has helped and continues to help animals in need and is a huge asset to the community. They put their animals first and take such wonderful care of each and every one. I have been to their ranch a couple of times and Jeff and Char are truly wonderful, caring, selfless people.

Char and Jeff recently tried helping someone rehome their senior horse Ruby. When no one stepped up, they decided to take Ruby themselves. They are very passionate about Broken Roads Ranch!
These people are so caring of their animals that they have rescued. My mom and I have been to the farm several times and were in awe at how caring these people are. The animals are all so healthy and happy out there. Jeff and Char have made a very peaceful farm/ home for all the animals. They both have a heart of gold. Hats off to them and all the great work they do. There are so many heartless people that have no respect for animals in this world, broken Roads Ranch and the owners are a blessing from god. We need more people like them in this world.
They are all about the animals more then they are about themselves. They work very hard to make sure their critters are well.
These folks save more animals than anything one else in the region. They do it selflessly and without judgement. Their full focus is on helping all critters!

I learned about BRR through my Veterinarian. She is also one of their Vets and speaks highly of the care and compassion the owners give to their animals. I started with a tiny Christmas donation. A year later as I rushed a sick kitty to our Vet BRR was also rushing a sick kitty in as well. (Mr. Gracie). He lived out his tough life in luxury at the ranch and will forever be in our hearts. I donate when ever I can and always ask my friends to as well. I feel it’s money well spent!
I just love this group of people their 1st priority is the animals making sure they're fed and taken care of and Taken to the vet even when funds are low and loved.
Broken Roads Ranch is owned and operated by family friends who we’ve known for over 15 years. They are caring and compassionate yet determined in their role as animal rescuers. They follow veterinarian guidelines regarding care for all the animals and never hesitate to reach out to bring awareness and ask for help as needed. Many have been fortunate enough to meet Jeff and Charlene and the animals thanks to their openness to teach and educate people about rescue sanctuaries.

Jeff and Char are the most compassionate people you will ever find to run and own an animal sanctuary. We recently volunteered at Broken Roads Ranch and found everything is completely thought out with only one thing in mind-the animals. Jeff and Charlene have a vision for the sanctuary and no doubt they will see this come full circle in the months and years to come.
Broken Roads is such a wonderful organization. They provide loving care an safety for so many animals. They are a source of inspiration and hope for humans as well, during dark times, via their social media presence. Their hearts are truly in the right place and it is readily apparent how tirelessly they work to protect rescued farm and companion animals. Their work is so important to abandoned/feral cats in the area. They raise awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering cats (and dogs) and their own work on this endeavor has undoubtedly spared many felines a life of suffering, abuse and early death. This is a very special place.
I have been there to visit and have seen the round-the-clock caring that the animals receive. A lot of hard work goes into what is done everyday.
Jeff and Char do a wonderful job keeping all the animals happy and healthy!

I have had the privilege of visiting Broken Roads many times. I have volunteered by helping complete tasks and interacted with all of the amazing animals. This organization pours into their animals—Jeff and Char work around the clock to ensure every single creature is not only cared for with Their basic needs but also LOVED as part of the family.
I love Broken Roads and can’t wait tk visit again! ❤️
My wife and I volunteer at this sanctuary as we are able, and also assist by helping with fundraisers for them. The owners are selfless in providing for unwanted animals. Many hours of love and care are spent with animal; each animal given a loving name!

We have known the “caretakers” of Broken Roads Ranch for over 15 years! So of course we have spent time volunteering at the ranch the last couple years.
Jeff and Charlene go above and beyond in taking care of the animals! And all of this is done out of their pockets and through donations - if and when they come in!!
Their work is purely for the love of the animals and it shows when you visit them and the ranch!!
Broken Roads is a wonderful nonprofit fully dedicated to the welfare of all the animals under their care. They work tirelessly to make sure each animal is cared for and loved.
I love this ranch. They keep ya posted on all the animals they take in . I love all the care they give top notch rescue. If I ever win the lottery u guys r getting a huge chunk
Wow what can I say about broken roads early the spring I had found a cat that evidently have been living underneath our shed for the later part of the winter it’s ears have been frozen and it looked in pretty bad shape I was on able to take care of it myself so through a mutual friend broken roads took in this poor little kitty it turned out this cat had congestive heart failure had some thyroid issues and had to be on special food and also found out that the cat had been most likely declawed on it’s on they took care of this cat with love brought it into their home and gave her the best care possible they gave they name the cat Gracie I fortunately the cat had so many health issues that would only sleep for a few months but without the broken roads I don’t know what would’ve happened to your scout broken rods save so many animals and giving them a home and so much love
Broken Roads Ranch are kind and helpful to animals and need. They have devoted their lives and hearts to these animals. I hope you will consider contributing to them and giving them support.
Jeff and Charlene are so dedicated to these animals. They go to the ends of the earth to make sure they have vet care, good quality feed, clean pens and LOTS OF LOVE. Other rescues could learn a lot from them.

The animals are #1 priority. Visitors are welcome on the farm with advance notice on posted visiting days. You can visit to meet the animal family of 20 that are currently being cared for or just stop to say hi and learn about whats going on. Very open, friendly and approachable with any questions you may have. The animals are too, especially if you have treats. The minis, Jimmy and Jackson in the picture enjoying some sweet corn.
I became a volunteer and then board member about a year and a half ago. In that time i have come to learn what true love amd compassion means. Both Charlene amd Jeff put the animals well being above their own. We have laughed, love and cried on the farm but its all worth it. The animals need an advocate and at Broken Roads Ranch that is excatly what the get.
Not sure where to begin, Broken Roads for me has been life altering, really. It began with the saving of a cat being abandoned in front of one of my brothers. It now involves my whole family. We were raised to love and respect all animals. The unselfish care Jeff and Char supply to each and every animal is really amazing to witness, especially in our throw away society. Thank goodness they are here to pick up the pieces and sadly there is such a need. I can't imagine the stress involved worrying about all their animals and the costs involved. It takes alot of pride swallowing to have to ask for help, but let's face facts not alot of us could do it without help from supporters. We are and will continue to support Jeff and Chars mission as we have visited and witnessed the amazing work they do on a consistent basis. My personal mission is to help spread the word and make sure animals have a safe place to live their best life.
Thank you,
Arden & Debbie Wray
Char and her family recently gave me a tour of the farm and I saw how they are all deeply committed to the well being and care of each animal. They all pitch in to make a difference to the running of the sanctuary. I encourage all to contribute to the mission and share in its success. Many hands make light work!!!
This is the most wonderful farm rescue. Char and Jeff care so deeply for every single animal!! I just love them and everything about this place!!
This family is very dedicated & loving in caring for their animals. They all have names & they are all loved. If I were animal in need of a home, I would beg them to give me a home.
Excellent rescue. Their lives revolve around the animals and Jeff and Char are just amazing people. I’m thankful for people like them and rescues like this!
Every time I go to visit, things are changed around because they are ALWAYS working to improve the set-up FOR the animals: the pens get bigger and have a better flow to the outdoor play yard; there are more enrichment "obstacles" for the goats... It's always clean and NEVER smells gamey or like manure. And the care the animals get is second to none...every animal has its own name that reflects its unique personality, and that unique personality is recognized and celebrated :)

Daisy the Goat was rescued Memorial Weekend. She was surrendered by her owner because she'd "recently" started walking on her front knees and owners couldn't afford medical care. The BBR people got a vet out to Daisy on an emergency call. The awesome vet VOLUNTEERED her time and services, and brought someone with to help and Daisy had her hooves trimmed back to where they SHOULD have been. Her hooves had been neglected for many, many months and were so long that Daisy could no longer walk on her front feet because of the pain. And the calluses on her knees were NOT fresh, so it wasn't a recent injury.
I met Daisy within 48 hours of her arrival at the sanctuary,
And she was already up on her feet and trying to walk! And she was happy and grateful. Yes---animals DO Have feelings. If you don't believe me, go and visit an animal rescue!
I wish I had before and after photos or video of Daisy--maybe BRR can add them to this comment. It is heartwarming to see her climbing and jumping with the other goats.
This is just one rescue story from the incredible Broken Roads Ranch.
Such a great place run by very compassionate people. They give there heart to the animals without hesitation. I seen such wonderful transformation in these rescused animals. Daisy the goat had been walking on her knees. Now she's playing with other goats like nothing was ever wrong. So many other stories just like that.
There arent enough words to describe the kindness and compassion jeff and charlene have for their rescue animals. Most days its the well being of the animals before themselves. Charlene is the goat, cat and rooster whisperer while jeff has a way with the horses and donkey.
Love and care go out to all the animals in the sanctuary. It’s a joy to see healthy happy animals. Hard work is never unnoticed!
I helped volunteer at this fantastic farm, building an overhang over the goat pen to keep the weather out and keep them dry! Keep this going, Jeff and Char are amazing people with an amazing cause.
I have been lucky enough to visit and volunteer for Broken Roads Ranch a few times. My cousin introduced me to Jeff and Char and they welcomed me with open arms! The love and commitment they have for all of their animals as well as the top notch care they provide to each of them is impossible to put into words. What is especially wonderful about this sanctuary is that they share information with visitors about proper and responsible care for the animals. They are such amazing people doing such amazing things—I can’t wait to visit again!!
Such a wonderful place for animals to be! I’m proud to be a new volunteer at the Ranch, and look forward to helping them expand and make space for more animals in need! ❤️
Broken Roads is AWESOME! I have been blessed to be able to become friends with the wonderful Char & Jeff and help support this start-up rescue. I was there the day Popsicle the Muscovy duck arrived, and enjoy the horses, roosters and goats every time I visit. Beautiful people with a beautiful mission. They deserve all the support in the world!
