This organization does a wonderful job of informing the public about the issues and challenges faced by the Oglala Lakota people, most of who live on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. At least here in the East, most people have completely forgotten about Native Americans (unless they own casinos) and have no idea about the conditions in which many of them live. The organization is also working to improve their lives through such things as book donations and scholarships. In the organization's newsletter you can follow the stories of individual Lakota that are being helped. These volunteers are doing important work on a tight budget and deserve your support!
