I have been to Kyrgyzstan and visited some of the work that STLI is doing in the country. I especially wanted to visit the southern region which was hit by an ethnic battle last year. There were so many homes burned and destroyed. There were also many people who were emotionally scared by the killing and destruction that took place there. I visited some of the STLI workers and they showed me the new homes that their engineers had helped the people rebuild. I also talked to some of the women that work with the children and people who returned to the community but still live in fear. It was so heartwarming to see how the STLI workers had such a relationship with the people they lived with in the community.
