Thanks to this charity I was able to get the gear and knowledgeable information to carry on this great and memorable family tradition my late father shared with me when I was a kid. They are some of the most precious memories I have of my dad and now I can build new memories with my daughter. This organization is passionate about what they do and welcome everyone who wants to learn or need free equipment to fish. I hope to attend many more events in the future.

Keep kids fishing has helped so many children in our area. He has taught many to fish. How to put a fishing pole together and bate. He has donated to the scouts and many other non profits to help them raise funds but also share the story of Kepp Kids Fishing. John keep up the great work. I have donated poles So we can make sure this continues for many years to come.
As a single parent I met John years prior to him starting this non-profit for kids. I met him through a Facebook page where he was giving away fishing rods for children who would like to fish. My daughter being an avid Fisher person probably wasn't the norm for an 12 year old girl to be doing, but that is what she loved to do and still loves doing. He had given my daughter a fishing rod to replace the one that was broken and he actually fixed the one that was broken as well. Since then we have been in close contact fast forward 10 years later now he has an official nonprofit and my daughter even helps out from time to time as she still has a love and joy for fishing. John and his mission is thoughtful caring and compassionate truly loves the joy he brings to people both young and old everyday. He always offered to help and never once asked for any sort of repayment in return. Just a great guy doing great things for people.
John takes time out of his life every single weekend that is nice and sets upmup poles and tackle for kids to learn how to fish and then they keep the pole and tackle. This is a huge part of our community and John Graichen deserves all the accolades he gets. He well deserved of this award. Please consider donating to help his cause... My son had a fantastic time fishing caught his very first fish with keep kis fishing . John gave my son a pole and fishing tackle box it made my son's day he has so much fun !
My son participated in their fishing competition. He was so proud to catch a fish and have it weighed and measured. He had fun with the other kids there trying to figure out something that didn’t include an app or a streaming channel. Thank you Keeping kids fishing

John is very active in the community to ensure donations for this great organizing keep coming in! He was even willing to help someone who's rods were stolen by gifting some of the more advanced fishing rods he had that were not suitable for kids! We love seeing kids out fishing the pond!
This is an outstanding organization that enriches kids' lives and creates a bonding opportunity with their parents / guardians and loved ones. I would encourage kids that have never experienced the joy and excitement of fishing to stop by and breath some fresh air by spending some time in the outdoors.!!

This non profit has helped provide over 1000 fishing rods and gear to kids as well as taught them how to fish! The kids he helps are so excited you can see it all over their faces. John will even take equipment that needs to be fixed and fixes it to pass it on to someone in need. We need more role models for kids like him! Well done John!

John came up with a great idea when he started this organization. He not only teaches the kids how to fish he supplies the polls and bait, and the kids get to keep the polls after the event. The parents pay nothing unless they would like to donate to this great organization. This organization was so needed there is nothing like it this in our community,

This nonprofit is amazing. John is an awesome guy who volunteers his own free time on Sunday's to help teach kids to fish. John has gifted my son and others that I know with free fishing poles and tackles boxes. John also provides everything you need when you come to fish including bait, gear, and poles. John is very patient and helpful with the kids. This nonprofit is awesome because it's all about getting the kids away from the electronics and out enjoying the outdoors while also learning a great skill and meeting new people. The look of a child catching that first fish is pure joy ( and great surprise )! John has created a safe place where kids and their parents can enjoy sunshine, fresh air, and learn to fish from a pro. He supplies all the gear and bait and every kid will get their own rod and reel for free.This man has such patience, always moving from one novice to another, baiting hooks,showing the little ones how to cast and always with a big smile. For this modest leader it is a labor of love and it shows.

The impact John makes on the children goes beyond a fishing pole. It creates a common interest amongst peers, helps teach patience, gets the children outdoors, and so much more!
This is a great nonprofit for kids! People will sometimes donate broken or old fishing poles, John fixes them, sets up a tackle box to give the kids and shows them how to fish. All while teaching them about the waters they are fishing in and the fish they are catching and releasing. He’s a super guy with a fantastic program!
I took my granddaughter to a 'Keeping Kids Fishing' event one Sunday to give her something to do over the weekend. She absolutely loved it...and John. She learned so much more than just how to fish. She learned about sharing and caring with others. She learning responsibility by 'catch and release'. She gained social experience which she sorely needed. Due to a medical condition she doesn't go to many events at this time but what she learned from John has been very valuable to her. Her esteem for John keeps rising and she is so grateful to him for providing fishing poles and tackle to two of her good friends.
We need more Great Nonprofits like Keeping Kids Fishing in this day and age of kids who spend all their time with their faces buried in electronics. We need more tackle boxes in the hands of our children today!
