Programs: United way, nationally and locally, has been in the midst of a major transformation of effectiveness. Rather than spread dollars thinly across a wide range of programs, community impact focuses our resources, partnerships, fundraising and volunteers on the building blocks for a good life -education, income and health. In addition, we will continue funding aligned support services (health, food, shelter, etc. ) to help hard working individuals and families move past immediate crisis that may prevent them from participating in united way programs that address their long-term needs. Everything we do will be connected to the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty by focusing on three areas that are the greatest contributors to the cycle of generational poverty. United way of lewis county has put a stake in the ground to work to break the cycle of poverty for those people who want a better life for themselves and their families. With more than 150 companies representing more than 5,000 employees, united way's workplace campaign mobilizes the largest group of individual donors in lewis county. Celebrating 55 years of historical roots, the united way has worldwide recognition and the more than 1,200 united way america offices share the same community-oriented goals. Since 1960 the presence of united way in lewis county, wa has been growing and we look forward to years of great collaborative partnerships ahead.
