The Centreville Immigration Forum is not just about connecting people for work. It is also about skills and language training, cultural activities, developing leadership skills and protecting immigrant workers from wage theft. I have been a volunteer with CIF for a few months now and see that the organization really cares about the people they work with.
I began to volunteer with the Centreville Immigration Forum soon after it's inception in 2010. Once CIF opened the Centreville Labor Resource Center, a day labor site, I've been involved with the coordination of the English classes.
The Center is a special place which offers many classes in addition to the English classes-woodworking, electrical wiring, house cleaning, etc. Other than the job help and classes, CLRC provides a "community" where persons of many backgrounds can gather, interact, and learn about each others' cultures. When there is a serious illness or tragedy, the "community" supports those persons or their families. This organization is certainly an asset to Centreville.
