Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Health, Patient & Family Support
Mission: Supporting the nutritional needs of adults who have cystic fibrosis.
Results: In the past five years we have provided monthly nutritional support for a total of 14 adults.
Target demographics: Adults with cystic fibrosis.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Last year we directly assisted eleven CF adults. Approximately 35 more adults wait to be added to our program. Your donation will help us support our current CF recipients and will allow us to add more under nourished CF adults to our program.
Geographic areas served: We work in Minnesota and are extending our program to other Cystic Fibrosis Centers in the USA.
Programs: Approximately one in five adults who have cystic fibrosis are losing their battle with the disease because they don't have enough nourishing food each day. We provide nutritional assistance for this very expensive chronic lung and digestive disease. We accomplish our goal by providing grocery store gift cards to qualified cystic fibrosis adults so they can choose the foods that best meet their complicated dietary needs. When we support their nutrition it gives them the ability to maintain weight, gain weight, qualify for organ transplantation, fight off infections, stave off depression, and live otherwise healthier lives. At this time we serve adults who receive medical care at the University of Minnesota Cystic Fibrosis Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We are developing a plan to take our program nationwide serving the entire CF adult population of the United States.
