I joined the Board of Directors in the spring of 2022. Since that time, I have learned that the growing number of homeless female veterans and their small children are an increased, and a lot of times, neglected population. Being a mother with a roof over our heads is something many of us take for granted. A lot of women, that served our great nation, have no where to go, no family around in the area they landed upon discharge and are having trouble becoming stable. The Robin’s Home gives these heroic women a safe harbor until they can get the help needed to get them back on their feet, provide them with not only shelter but the structure needed to be outstanding citizens in their community. Food, clothing and transportation is available and will help lift the burden until they are ready to leave. In Nov of 2022, the Robin’s Home is going one step further and providing a thrift/donation center for the community to not only gain awareness of our organization but to generate the funding needed to purchase another transitional housing program so we can provide more for the ones who still have no where to turn.

Robin’s Home is the first of its kind in the area. Female Veterans, one of the fastest-growing groups in the homeless population, are underserved. This home provides a place for these women who suffer from addiction, abuse and physical disabilities to heal and learn coping skills so they can transition into the community. Outside groups have shown amazing support for the Home and have offered a variety of programs to assist with the healing process for these damaged women. They (and their children ) are given a safe, secure place to stay while they recover.

Robin's Home is an amazing place! This home provides much needed services to homeless or unstably housed women Veterans and their children. It is the only home that is available in the area and covers Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Erie, Clarion, Lawrence and Mercer counties. It gives women Veterans a chance to get on their feet and find stable housing and employment. Please consider donating to or volunteering at Robin's Home!
