I am a volunteer for southern grace angelic gowns. After going through 2 miscarriages I decided to join this group to help make angel gowns. I wanted to be able to help moms who have gone through what I have went through and i wanted to be able to continue to heal from my loss while doing it. I am so glad I found this nonprofit to help out. It is very special to my heart and I have made a great friend in the process.

I ran into Sophia and Southern Grace Angelic Gowns shortly after embarking on my own to make bereavement gowns in my area. I went to a SGAG workshop and was instant friends with everyone there. I now knit and crochet blankets for SGAG to be included in the layettes they provide.

After my son jaxson was born still at 29weeks I fought and stressed so much on how to afford an outfit to lay him to rest, I had no one to talk to that understood me, and I was very confused. Southern Grace Angelic Gowns not only provided a BEAUTIFUL outfit for my son but they also provided a certificate of my sons life and plenty of moral support!!

My daughter Lana was 14 days old when she passed away unexpectedly. It was such a tough time for us. I couldn't even begin to process that she was gone before I had to start making all kind of decisions about her memorial service. Southern Grace Angelic Gowns sent a beautiful gown, blanket, and bonnet for my little girl that made her look absolutely angelic! They are truly a wonderful organization that cares deeply for families during the most difficult times in their lives. I can't thank them enough for being a resource during those hard moments and going above and beyond!

We absolutely LOVE this organization and everything they do. They go above and beyond for parents and for the angel babies. The love and thoughtfulness that they put into each gown is amazing. They deserve to be recognized, they put in alot of hours to help parents out without thinking of themselves. I love these ladies, and Bart :). They mean more to us than they will ever know.

In April of last year, when I was 38 weeks pregnant with our daughter, Lisa Grace, my husband and I learned the devastating news that her heart had stopped beating. I gave birth to a beautiful 9 pound, 21-inch baby girl who looked just like her Daddy. Due to some complication during delivery, I wasn't able to see her until several hours later (my husband chose to wait to see her so we could see her together). The first time we saw our daughter, she was dressed in a beautiful purple dress, wearing a purple crocheted hat, and wrapped in a purple blanket. We had no idea where these items came from. They weren't anything we had or brought by family or friends. We later learned that a local organization had donated these items.

When we laid her to rest, Lisa was wearing the dress and hat. In fact, the only way we ever saw her was in that dress and hat. We never saw her undressed or wearing any other outfit. We had considered leaving her blanket with her. It was hers, after all. It was suggested to us that we may want to keep her blanket, so we have something that was hers. We decided to do just that. That blanket is all we have that was hers. That blanket has helped comfort us during some of our darkest times.

When we were leaving the hospital, I asked for the name of the organization who had donated her dress, hat, and blanket. The nurse gave us the business card for Southern Grace Angelic Gowns. We later learned that they take donated wedding dresses and transform them into burial garments for babies who are stillborn or pass away shortly after birth. In our case, it was a donated bridesmaid dress.

A month later, during my first Mother's Day weekend, my husband and I met Sophia, the founder of SGAG, and donated my own wedding dress in my daughter's name. That weekend was just the beginning of our relationship with SGAG. I am proud to volunteer my time with this wonderful organization and, as of March of this year, to serve as SGAG's Vice President.

I had found out on 7/10/19 that my 15 week baby did not have a heartbeat. I found out 7/11/19 in the evening that I would be giving birth the next morning. As soon as they found out they sent the packet to me that evening. I did not receive it in time sadly, but not because they didn’t try. Because it just wasn’t possible. The gowns are beautiful as are the pockets.
