I have come here on two occasions to receive food for my family during these hard times. Each time the process has been extremely smooth sailing and efficient, allowing the most people to be helped with a small amount of resources. The staff and volunteers at Loaves and Fishes are obviously knowledgeable and hard working people who know how to run a non profit to allow. In addition to their efficiency, the compassion that is shown by all is truly heartwarming. I have overheard staff speaking to guests here with obvious familiarity and warmth, and they are so willing to go the extra mile to ensure that the patrons of Loaves and Fishes are able to get what they need. Small things like making sure I was able to carry my box outside and into my car and holding the door really make the difference. As someone who works in the non profit sector myself, I can say that this is an essential organization that is doing so much good. I feel blessed that the Mississippi Gulf Coast has Loaves and Fishes to serve the most vulnerable.
If it weren't for Loaves & Fishes I would go HUNGRY.
I'm not referring to "hunger" as-"Oops! Should I go to McDonald's or the casino buffet?!"
The Staff are Compassionate as well as Kind. GOD BLESS THEM.
I have been going to loaves and fishes off and on when I am in need and they are really awesome. To put in time to feed the homeless and care really means a lot and shows gratitude. People don't want to be homeless and down in a rut like that but things happen sometime that we have no control over and the Staff and volunteers at Loaves and Fishes understand and accept ones needs and I am so thankful to have them..Thanks to Leslie Ramon and the staff and volunteers..God bless.
Loaves and Fishes serves our community with love, providing a nutritious meal and caring concern for anyone in need, while preserving the dignity of the recipients of their kindness. They serve two hot meals daily to anyone who walks in and give over 100 families boxed groceries consisting of staples such as milk, bread, and pizza every Thursday. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is fortunate to have such selfless, caring individuals who support and volunteer for this phenomenal organization!
I am a full-time working single father two children in the house times are hard ends are hard to make loaves and fishes has always been there anytime I needed a little extra hand with food or if I even needed a hot meal to feed my children they've been a big blessing to me and my family
I walked in to this place at the lowest point of my life and was very humbled at the need in our community. I am in awe everyday of the volunteers we have that selflessly give there time to help others in need. Truly a great organization
I am Fr. Gregory Barras and have worked at Loaves and Fishes for several years. I thought when I went to volunteer, I was giving. What happened is that I received way more than I gave. To encounter whole families coming in to eat. People in need of medical care and shelter being resourced to find these essential human needs opened my eyes to the the significant population that exists who are silent and unseen. I walked away with a heart full of gratitude that I can serve and that I am well off with what I have. My conscience was raised to the moral reality to which there is a solution. Willingness to be aware, this is real. Fr. Greg
