At no financial cost to veterans, veterans train their service dogs through the expert guidance of Dog Tag Buddies while receiving continuous support, accountability, and resources.
With my service dog, I shift away from feeling like a liability to my myself, my family and my community, and towards believing I am an asset.
This organization has been monumental in giving veterans their lives back! Not only does the training provide them with a trusted companion that helps them navigate life to its fullest, but it helps them create a lasting bond with a friend they trust to help them thru life. The support and training they provide is stellar! I have a friend who went thru training for his Service Dog with them, and I have done 101 training (not SD, public instruction) and they are so patient and knowledgeable! I highly recommend this non profit and donate frequently!

I have witnessed the impact this nonprofit has given to our community. The compassion, education and support for countless veterans and dogs. The mentorship to promote an awareness and unconditional bond between handlers and dogs. The delicate advocacy of mental health and the positive impact animals can be in our lives. Overall, the lives saved on both ends. There is no greater gift than what this nonprofit does for these deserving individuals.
Dog Tag Buddies have made a huge difference in my life, my dogs, and our community. The founder and all of the staff are dedicated, knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated. I am so grateful for their help in training, specifically Bonnie Lusby who really understands our bully breeds and their character traits. It’s a beautiful facility to work in and everyone there is positive, encouraging and friendly.
As a veteran going through this program, it has been a life changing journey. Not only do you get the reward of training your own service dog under the guidance of great well trained trainers, but you actually retrain yourself and learn how to function in society with aide of a service dog you've been training.
Dog Tag Buddies has a great staff and fills a very important niche in matching service dogs and veterans. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this organization is!
I don't know where I would be without the phenomenal staff at Dog Tag Buddies. They have helped me in ways I didn't even know I needed help. I haven't always nor am I always open to help and suggestion but somehow they know how to help me without me asking or even knowing their helping. As a disabled veteran aside from the VA this place is the most helpful to veterans.
I was fortunate enough to work with Dog Tag Buddies and watch them grow. When I donate, I can see difference every dollar makes. When I volunteer, the efforts are put toward helping vets and animals directly, and with an eye for moving forward. If you want to donate or volunteer where it truly counts, choose Dog Tag Buddies.
As the wife of a disabled Veteran who utilizes a Service Dog, we worked closely with DeeDe Baker of a Dog Tag Buddies to revise Montana’s Service Dog lead to closely mirror the ADA. She is dedicated to the Service Dog cause and constantly taking courses to learn even more!
As a retired military spouse I have been happily following this amazing organization! It is nice to know someone out there cares about our veterans mental and physical health! I urge you to follow and if possible donate to Dog Tag Buddies and help those who served!!
It is great working with the veterans and their pups. It is great to see them get back in to society.
I joined the Dog Tag Buddies team as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and both DeeDe and Kati have been excellent to work with. They have such a passion for helping these veterans and rescue dogs. As I got to see teams working and training firsthand it became apparent how much of an impact was being made on both the lives of the veteran and the dog. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer with this non-profit!
My friend and I had a vision of training a service dog for a veteran. We couldn't have done it alone. Dog Tag Buddies stepped in and assisted us by finding a dog, mentoring, and covering the costs of training this sevice dog. The veteran and the service dog still participate in training with DTB. They are a wonderful group of people who care about each individual. They are genuine and real. I couldn't have imagined working with a better group of people!!
I was welcomed into this group in Nov of 2017. Kilo and I became a team officially on Dec 13 2018. The quality of life that Dog Tag Buddies staff has provided for me, is above and beyond anything I thought possible after all these years. They continue to teach Kilo goals that make my life liveable, both mentally and physically... Deede and her Team are so dedicated, and give every breathing moment to the program. Which unfortunately, they never get a portion of the recognition that they deserve. For all the better part this program and the correct match of dog, has helped with some of my PTSD issues, more so than most of the shrinks provided to me as a U.S. Veteran... Thank you DTB. #TEAMKILO
