Causes: Philanthropy
Mission: The foundation is dedicated to the development, growth, continuance and enhancement of community based programs and services. In partnership with other community institutions, foundations, restricted and unrestricted philanthropic donors, it seeks to support effective community growth and development.
Programs: The foundation provides rent subsidies for foundation-owned facilities occupied by people with mental illness or developmental disabilities and for non-profit tenants.
bcsf provides support for numberous grants to individuals, businesses, and organizations in the yk delta region. Bcsf works as a fiscal agent for the best in the west competition that provides competitive grants to people wishing to start or expand small business in the yk region. Also, along with the w. K. Kellogg and rasmuson foundations, bcsf helps administer the dhat program that brings leaders in dentistry and public policy to anchorage and bethel to see firsthand how dhat's are educated and to witness how dhat's are integrated into the local health system and conduct their practices.
