The family is really into sharing the love of horses with everyone. They do parades, and also special events. They are volunteer driven as well. They love volunteers, and will even host special get together so that their volunteers can meet each other.

Kindred Spirits Therapy Minis is a phenomenal organization. The time and care the Founder Nancy Lambert, takes in ensuring her animals are trained and cared for ensures a exceptional experience for the people that she helps as well as the horses. Nancy's dedication to the program is second to none!

I always feel as if I'm the one that is blessed. I get to witness every smile made, song sung and day made just a little bit brighter. It's a great way to spend an afternoon any day of the week.

These may be little horses, but they and their parents have huge hearts. I've personally seen the smiles and joy they have brought to others. If you have the chance to meet them you'll know why it is a great charity to support

There really aren't enough words to describe this organization. The owners are simply amazing. We have had her at numerous events. The ponies were a hit and she was wonderful. You can see her passion and love for these animals and the work she puts into what she does. I can't wait to see her at the next event!

I love Kindred Spirits Therapy Minis! The minis, or ‘the boys’ are small in stature but huge in heart. I volunteer (almost) weekly at Nancy’s farm and just love spending time there. Nancy and the boys are able to travel and give people the gift of time, acceptance, being noticed and warm smiles (yes the horses smile, too!). They visit folks that are unable to get out, may struggle to be independent or may not have any visitors or much outside interaction. These four little horses..Cavalier, Picasso, Brodie and Elmer.. team up with Nancy and bring joy and smiles to everyone they come into contact with. One of my favorite things is to sit in their stalls, brush and pet them and talk - they’re great listeners! Even when they aren’t working, they’re still blessing those around them. Sometimes all any of us need is a loving connection and that’s what this program provides :D

I'm miost positive the boys are missing those conversations you had with them. You were a blessing to our program and are greatly missed. We hope you and your newly expanded family are doing well and keep in touch.

Kindred Spirits Therapy Mini's are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and so dedicated to the work that they do! All the Mini's are so sweet and so gentle! They so generously took in my mini as we are displaced from the recent Hurricane and have treated him as their own. They have spent countless hours working with Disaster Relief organizations after Hurricane Michael providing people with hope, love, and encouragement. Great nonprofit! Great people! Thank you for all you do! God Bless!

My giving story begins in the summer of June 2004. I am a firm believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, that NOTHING is by accident just sometimes it take us awhile (years for me) to see the plan come together. Several life events HAD to happen for me to be where I am today, to have the level of compassion, and drive I do to keep doing what I do. Let’s be very honest I work full time and I use my Vacation time to manage and have the kind of program that I do sometimes that keeps me very busy or. But I keep thinking if only I can bring any amount of joy to somebody’s life if even for a few minutes, memories are made, tears fall, loss happens and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Back to 2004 and the significant events that led me to envision and launch Kindred Spirits Therapy Minis…. I was deployed to Iraq, I had to wear a flack vest, helmet and carry a loaded weapon on my person always. It was a very small base and at times it was a very scary situation as the night sky light up with tracer rounds and live fire from our side to theirs. I often found peace in coloring books, it was simple and I could go to a place other than where I was, a place I was happy when things were simple and easy. Stay in the lines and outline everything first, don’t press to hard or the crayons will break! Here grass can be blue and the sky can be pink. I was able to be as creative as the colors I had in my box. But my world as I knew it was about to change, Thanksgiving day through no fault of my own I was in a terrible accident and broke both my arms and my nose, my face was a mess. I remember bits and pieces of the next 24 hours to include the helicopter trip to Balad where the Major theatre Hospital was located. Again to me it was moments I remember nothing other than brief flashes of reality, a consent to do a fasciotomy or lose my right arm… YES! I was out and woke again someplace new, this time in Germany headed home. I’ll be better in two months it’s just a break I kept telling myself. As I became slowly aware "weeks' had already passed. Now at Wilford Hall Hospital at Lackland AFB in Texas. I spent the next three months having a surgery every third day, I was NOT going to get better anytime soon…….not in two months. The Holidays came and went I had very few visitors, just the local media, I barely remember what I said. I cried a lot I could not even leave my bed, it was NOT JUST a break it was fractured almost all up and down the bones both of them the slightest bump and imy right arm would just be gone. With time I healed I kept my arm but the events that year changed my life forever, the time alone, the fear and sadness will never leave me.

Years later, my neighbor asked me to bring one of my horses to her school for gifted adults so- they could meet him and touch him. I happily agreed to share my love of horses with them because when I was sad and when I could not go on because it hurt it was my Love for them that MADE me get up and made me get better. It was here the spark was started a thought was placed. See only those that could come out to the horse trailer were able to see him, touch him, and even then they could only touch his nose his face. Watching the interaction unfold was event number two for me.... I need to do this with a smaller horse.... I need to share my love of horses with others.

I came across Picasso in a FB group I had kept scrolling, but again his post came up and I couldn't help myself this 7mo old little boy was in a feed lot and his fate was very grim. Something stirred in me and I had to make him the first member of my team. I was being called to do this, for others and now my third and final moment.

I still cry when I think about those long lonely days in the hospital, in and out of surgery every third day, the struggle to get better, the feeling of helplessness and loneliness. My team of miniature horses will change that we will visit those that cannot get out of bed, those that nobody comes to visit and bring joy and a sense of peace and quiet affection to anybody that wants to reach out to them. My Love for horses is what kept me moving forward, kept me pushing through the 13 different surgeries, 1.5 years of therapy, and the loneliness. My horses know me and accepted me for who I am, they do not see the physical scars. They do not care if my arm looks or works exactly as it did before. Their calmness and their ability to read posture, tones in my voice and they just KNOW when to reach out to you. That in itself is the heart of Kindred Spirits Therapy Minis. We have made special moments with thousands of children and adults in 8 of the Florida Panhandle counties. From hospital visits, assisted living facilities, schools for the disabled, and most recently visiting Red Cross Shelters for those displaced by Hurricane Michael. We just keep receiving more and more calls. I cannot wait for the day I can retire because I KNOW what I'm going to be doing next and KSTM is it, how could I not? I still cry when I think about those days and the moments that brought me here, I still find peace in my color books and I still Deploy, but had everything not happened as it did who knows where Id be today. So- in the here and now we are blessed in that my gift is to train and share these wonderfull "boys" with those who cannot co.e to them.
