I have volunteered with CAN since August of 2021 and I am amazed at all CAN does for the Washtenaw County community. CAN's mission is to provide education, stabilization, and community-building services to under-resourced families in Washtenaw County through its various programs such as summer camp, Youth Works, after-school programs, food distributions, and seven community centers. CAN's staff and volunteers are entirely dedicated to providing assistance for children and families in need of support, and CAN's educational curriculum and stabilization resources go above and beyond. I highly recommend CAN as a top-rated nonprofit in Michigan!

CAN knows what it can do and what it cannot do. The focus is on quality care, service and compassion instead of quantity; knowing that the capacity to increase quantity is something that can be changed and worked towards, but quality is a different story. CAN creates connections and relationships in the communities it works in that last a lifetime. Providing food, resources, help and sometimes just a shoulder to lean in has made CAN the most valuable asset in Washtenaw County.
