Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Prevention
Mission: Provide support to our loved ones who are affected by this disease called heroin, to advocate for improved treatment options and services to prevent incarceration or death, educating our young children on the active and deadly traits of heroin, and breaking down the stigma of addiction that has labeled our loved ones who struggle daily.
Target demographics: people struggling with the disease of addiction and also to help loved ones with the grieving process of losing a loved one to addiction.
Direct beneficiaries per year: by purchasing on average 1 memorial urn a month for families who could not afford the cost after losing their loved one to the disease of addiction. We hope to increase it from 1 to maybe 2-3 a month this coming year as we expand our fundraising efforts.
Programs: online grief support in our private Facebook group (Heroin Memorial) for people who lost a loved one , also online support in our private Facebook group (Heroin Support) for active users, those in recovery and parents who want to join to understand more about the daily struggles of those affected by the disease of addiction. You can learn more about these online support groups on our website at www.HeroinSupport.org
