Meow Village goes above and beyond to fill the void left by the large, well funded rescue shelters. It's always about the cats and not the money. Over and over when Meow Village has been asked to step up, they are there for the community. Whether it is neonatal fragile kittens that need to be bottle-fed, the high medical costs to care for cats hit by car, shot, burned or poisoned, Meow Village says "yes". Whether it is Cats left in an apartment with no food or water, or cats dumped that turned feral and now need to be TNRed and adopted into barn homes, Meow Village is there. One of the largest rescue sites was in Salem, over 110 cats that needed to be fixed and attended to with various medical issues. Meow Village was there. Please support this organization that puts empathy and doing the right thing, at the very top of their mission.
Big win for the feral cat population in our MFG park.
After 2 long years of trying we were able to trap our very prolific Mommy cat and her week old kittens.
They are now in a cushy house in Donald with a foster family. When the 5 babies are weened she will be fixed and eventually the kittens will be too, then off to their forever homes.
This mommy gave us 32 kittens in just the last 2 years. She was only 10 months old when she had her 1 litter. The last litter she had 8 and only enough milk for 6 when we took them to Meow Village to foster them until adoption.
MEOW VILLAGE, ROBIN, SELINA & FOSTER MOM LISA, we owe you huge thank you for all the coaching on best trapping practices, to the loving care these babies & mom will receive.
What a team effort with great results.
Meow Village saved 9 kitties from death when they moved them from a rural area that was being developed to a barn that needed rodent control. The kitties have a great life, the barn is now rodent free, and the people on the farm enjoy the kitty companions. Also Meow Village puts on a wonderful annual fund raiser with an auction. It is very well organized and great fun! The food is tasty, auction items enticing, and most importantly the volunteers are so kind and organized. It is a great charity all around!!!

Meow Village helped relocate feral kitties from a dilapidated, abandoned house that was to be torn down to a barn that needed help with rodent control. The kitties settled in quite nicely and were able to eradicate the rodent problems in the barn area. The Meow Village group of volunteers is so wonderful to work with and always have the focus on what is best for the kitties. Feral kitties are not always easy to handle and the Meow Village volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate.
Meow village tests all ferals and if they test positive for fiv they have them euthanized. If one member doesn’t like a person, they won’t help anyone that the person refers to them. Basically showing it’s not all about cats, but ego.
Review from Guidestar
Meow Village and everyone involved with them are cat angels. They helped me in the summer of 2012 feed, trap and find new homes for a colony of 18 starving cats that a neighbor of mine abandoned at his home. I have been a volunteer with them since July 2012 - helping with the multitude of cats abandoned and dumped by uncaring people. Thank you Meow Village for all the cats you have saved from horrible situations or death. Thank you from me and that one special cat from the colony of 18 that came and found me to save the rest - my old man Mac.
I had been trying to care for a little striped feral 4-week old kitten I had found among a sick feral cat colony off the side of a highway (I couldn't find the rest of the litter)--yet I hadn't even a place to live for myself and my funds had been depleted. I had taken the kitten to a veternarian--and she was free from disease. Upon notifying MeowVillage, staff immediately stepped in and found a home for the little one and finished the vaccination series for her and made sure she got spayed. I was lucky she hadn't escaped in my car while I had to keep her in the car. I miss her terribly--but I have helped the little cat more than I would have imagined by having found MeowVillage to get her placed safely, spayed, and permanently cared for. Allison
Where to start?? These volunteers spend HOURS advocating for feral cats. They trap, spay/neuter, then return feral cats to colonies and then take care of them with daily feedings, shelter and water. This has then led to fostering and re-homing numerous dumped cats and kittens. Due to the generosity of all these people involved thousands of cats have been saved as well as found "furever" homes. This organization is 100% volunteer and all vet, food "AKA expenses" is paid totally out of pocket and with generous donations.
