Free Press
Mission:
Free Press seeks to generate policies that will produce a more competitive and public interest-oriented media system with a strong nonprofit and noncommercial sector. Our strategies include: (a) raising awareness of the need to improve the media (b) serving as comprehensive source of information for policymakers, scholars, journalists, media producers, activists, and citizens; (c) strengthening the media reform movement through building coalitions; (d) developing action-oriented strategies to educate, motivate, and mobilize people to take part in media reform; and (e) convening large national gatherings that include the National Conference for Media Reform and national Future of Media Town Hall Meetings.
