Mission:
Canopy is an environmental, volunteer-based urban forestry nonprofit. Canopy plants and protect trees to improve local communities.

Because we believe trees are a critical element of a livable, sustainable urban environment, Canopy’s mission is to educate, inspire, and engage residents, businesses, and government agencies to enhance local urban forests.
Results:
In 2009 Canopy worked with over 2,189 students and residents during over 90 educational tree activities to preserve, protect and care for our urban forests. Canopy volunteers cared for 2,292 area trees, including Canopy’s 1,200 newly planted trees in East Palo Alto. We have an unheard of 98% survival rate for newly planted trees. Canopy also advocated for our urban forest with local and state governments.
