I have to commend Charles and LaVerne Banks for the desire to want to open up such a needed business in East Austin where so many of the kids and families are struggling just to make it not to mention to educate their children when a lot of the schools in my opinion are not top notch in their teaching style and what they are teaching our kids. Although this learning and tutoring center is small and new, they have great potential to really make a difference in the life of many children if 2 things could happen #1 they had more volunteers or the money to attract paid staff. #2 More of the community to accept this wonderful free service. Actually maybe there is #3 to stay open a little longer . I know there is a need, but from what I have seen I think the people that could benefit from this is in denial , because not many sign up. However some may have legitiimate reasons for the lack of interest. Mr and Mrs. Banks and the regular volunteers seem quite genunie about what they want to do for the children and community.
