I have embarked on four incredible journeys with GEEO, each one surpassing my expectations. The GEEO staff have consistently been very helpful and prompt in addressing any questions I had. The tour leaders have been exceptionally knowledgeable, supportive, and fun. Each trip was well-paced, allowing me to explore the important sites, immerse myself in the local culture, and connect with the people of the region.

I participated in the Iceland trip, and it was fabulous! The trip was well planned, our guide was excellent, and the country is breathtakingly beautiful! Some of the highlights included whale watching--whales right beside our boat for over an hour, a glacier hike, hikes to the top of waterfalls, watching puffins, and fun with colleagues. GEEO put together an amazing trip that was educational and fun. I'm already looking forward to my next trip with GEEO!
I was a teacher for 40 years. Of course I had few resources to travel in those decades. But as a retiree I have been able to hike in the Canary Islands with geeo.org. Teachers and allies, it is not too late! Book travel with this nonprofit and see our astonishing world. It is a grade A organization,
I can't recommend GEEO enough. They offer trips for everyone. The best part of GEEO, is their customer service. Their responsiveness is outstanding. I have been traveling with GEEO for so long, I really can't remember when I started :) If you can go, GO!

GEEO is a great organization and offers teachers an opportunity to travel. I have seen places I have only dreamed of seeing.GEEO also provides solo travelers a chance to visit places with the support of a group.
I started traveling with GEEO in 2009 and haven't stopped. I have traveled as a high school science teacher and now as a retired teacher to more than 16 countries. I have always found the trips to be great fun and extremely informative, whether bringing information back into the classroom or just expanding my own personal experiences.
Recently I returned from a Retiree Trip to New Zealand. The trip had amazing highlights like the Waitome Glowworm Caves and visiting areas of geothermal activity. The walk to the Mt. Cook glacier was spectacular, especially seeing the icebergs floating in the river. Learning about Maori Culture was an eye opener.
I personally recommend GEEO because you will see and learn things that you probably wouldn't if you traveled on your own.
I've done 5 tours with GEEO so far with plans to do 3 or 4 more over the next few years. Every one of them was outstanding. There's a good balance of structured activities and free time and we often go to places general tourists don't tend to visit. The tour guides are top notch.
Just returned from two weeks in Costa Rica--HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Our guide, Ronald, was amazing--knowledgeable, organized and fun! Each day we had a wide variety of options for activities ranging from relaxing on the beach to walking around town, from visiting a reserve to zip lining! Ronald assisted with all arrangements for activities, food and transportation. You just can't beat a group of educators for learning, fun and flexibility! I would recommend this trip to anyone!
I have been on 6 (SIX!!!) GEEO trips as an educator. Traveling with teachers is a great plan. Teachers are engaged, outgoing, well-prepared, and curious. In my younger years, I used to like to "build my own adventure" in terms of travel. GEEO is great at creating that same feeling, but letting me off the hook for a lot of that planning. So I get an authentic experience, without all of the hassle of planning it myself. I have always met great people on these trips, and it gives me that feeling of being a backpacker again. HOWEVER, I appreciate traveling with people who are better behaved than your average 20-year old backpacker. We still have fun though :)
GEEO is a great organization that helps teachers travel the World. I have been on Three trips, and they are well organized, inexpensive, educational, and fun! I have some great friends still that I made on these trips. I use my new knowledge about the places I travel to help me become a better more informed teacher.
COVID changed our usual summer plans over the past decade from an international trip to domestic. And while most Americans "cruise" to Alaska, this was not an option this summer. Besides, we prefer small-group travel and avoid hundreds-of-people cruises. This was PERFECT. While it is part of the United States, Alaska is far enough away to "feel international." Affordable. Opportunity to relax and explore with scheduled events and time to adventure on your own. Great knowledgeable guide made for a PERFECT trip.

This trip was a perfect combination of time, unique and wonder. The bottom line is I know I want to return to the Galapagos. This GEEO trip with 15 people showed me a world I could only imagine until I went. Yes to GEEO
GEEO is one of teachers' closest allies. They share our collective commitment to engaging young minds, connecting students to the world in meaningful ways, and promoting a deeper understanding of geography, culture, history, and language. By investing in teachers, GEEO reaches thousands of students. They understand that educators are conduits of information and bridges that enable student exploration of distant places. I remain indebted to the GEEO staff for coordinating an unforgettable journey through Jordan in 2019!
I attended the Eastern European trip this summer, and it was fantastic. This makes my second trip with GEEO as I went to Costa Rica in 2012. The Eastern Europe trip was a very beautiful experience. The food was just great from Roast Boar, pheasant, rabbit, peirogies, beet soup, goulash, wiener schnitzel, stuffed cabbage, and polish sausage. The various cultures was very interesting from the new cities of Berlin and Warsaw (both were destroyed during WWII), to the old world charm of Prague and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic to Vienna and finally to Budapest. The churches were just beautiful. The WWII history was incredible. We visited Auschwitz - Birkenau concentration/extermination camp, visited the Warsaw Uprising museum, the second largest synagogue in Europe in Budapest, and we visited an underground salt mine. I took river boat cruises on the Vlatava River in Prague and the Danube in Budapest. We floated down the upper reaches of the Vlatava River on rubber boats at Cesky Krumlov. The accommodations were just wonderful. GEEO's partner G-Adventures provided a guide for us throughout our journey. We also had paid guided tours in Warsaw ,Vienna, and Auschwitz/Birkenau. All transportation between our destinations were provided by G-Adventures. We used train, bus, and minivans. We went to out of the way restaurants that served the local cuisine. This was a 14-day trip, but it is not for those who do not like to walk. I probably walked at least 10 miles a day. If you want to see a lo of the cities we visited, you have to go out on your own or at least in a small group. Anyway, the GEEO program tours are very well done, and I would highly recommend these to anyone. I am planning another tour next summer to Morocco.
This summer, I took my first GEEO adventure to Peru, where I had the most wonderful traveling experience I've had in years. I have trekked with many different organizations to many different areas of the world, but GEEO was the first experience where I felt as though I was truly engaging with local culture, as opposed to simply visiting a country. Through GEEO I visited local schools, helped on farms, studied history, culture, and language, and hiked the Incan Trail. I traveled with a group of educators from around the US, ranging from mid twenties to early sixties, and I learned from each and e very person I traveled with. GEEO handles everything to the tee, and you never worry about your travel plans once there. It was a truly amazing experience, and I'd encourage anyone with the opportunity to travel with GEEO to seize it!
I have traveled with GEEO for the past two summers. Each trip has been organized, professional, and at a great cost. I enjoy traveling with fellow educators, and seeing the world! What makes this company stand out is the small scale it runs on. Trips are limited to fifteen people, and all you have to do is show up. Transportation, accommodations, and most meals are covered. I went to the Galapagos this summer and would go back in a heartbeat. The guide was exceptional, the location was unforgettable, and the travelers a wonderful group to spend time with.

I traveled with GEEO on its Eastern Europe program. It was a wonderful trip! I thought it was well organized, and hit a lot of important cultural and historical points of interest. Taking public transportation to most of our destinations was another way to get an added layer of the culture. I enjoyed traveling with teachers as we all had a common bond- love of travel and teaching. It provided for some good informal conversations on education topics. This was my second trip with GEEO. I would travel with them a third time.
I travelled to Morocco with GEEO in April of 2014. The trip was very well organized and included a number of informative lectures which will help in my instruction of the region. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and appreciated the size of the group and the itinerary. I would highly recommend this company for any educator who wants to to travel in order to enrich their instruction of other cultures!
Imagine going back in time and following Charles Darwin's journey to the Galapagos Islands. This extraordinary trip redefines the power of nature in its pristine beauty. Every day is a new adventure and an opportunity to learn from a naturalist about the flora and fauna of these enchanted islands. From the panorama of cliff-top trails to the long white-sand coral beaches to the lava outcrops, I found myself mesmerized by carpets of iguanas, mangrove wetlands, sea lions, and giant lumbering tortoises. The varying activities from snorkeling to kyaking, from biking to hiking, from motoring to strolling provided a unique vacation venue. This trip is a true classroom without walls and I can't wait to share my adventures with my students and, perhaps, return.
I took GEEO to Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt. I had a wonderful time! We saw every antiquity along the way, the guides were awesome and spoke great English, and the hotel rooms were clean, safe, and usually close to downtown. I was always out seeing the sites and touring. I am a teacher, so I have to be frugal, but I like to travel and see the world. If you like bang for your buck and love education...this site is for you! I am off to Vietnam next.
