Work of Christ Community
Mission:
The Work of Christ Community grew out of the charismatic movement in the 1960's and 1970's. It was formally established in 1974 as an ecumenical Christian community. Today the Work of Christ consists of ~500 adults and children and includes Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Evangelical Protestants, and Eastern Orthodox members.
The primary mission of the Work of Christ is to evangelize and disciple individuals and families in a fervent, daily Christian life through Christian community. The Work of Christ also seeks to make a grass roots contribution to Christian unity as a practical model of cooperative ecumenism.
In addition, The Work of Christ belongs to the Sword of the Spirit, a world-wide network of Christian communities. Through the Sword of the Spirit, the Work of Christ seeks to foster and build Christian communities in every nation and culture.
