Mission: Valley mountain bikers and hikers is a recreational trail advocacy group based in the matanuska-susitna valley region of alaska. We are dedicated to increasing the quality and quantity of sustainable trails for hikers and mountain bikers throughout the matanuska- susitna valley.
Programs: Sprockidz - youth mountain bike program that teaches kids bike riding skills, exposes them to the necessity of quality trail care, and provides them a safe environment in which to socialize with their peers
trail construction projects - for 2014 projects included palmer bike park (pbp) and government peak singletrack. Pbp is a bicycle park within the city of palmer consisting of a flow trail, technical trail, pump track, and jump line. Government peak singletrack is a new mountain bike trail, approximately four miles in length, that we built in government peak recreation area.
take a hike! Challange - encourages members to get outside and hike the trails throughout the matanuska-susitna valley. Participants get points for every hike they do. At the end of the year, there is a drawing for a fun prize. All participants are entered into that drawing, and those with extra points get extra entries into the drawing.
