As a founder and 10 year Board member of Throwaways I have to report that this charity is disfunctional at this time. My co-founder has taken up with a drug addicted sex offender who she wants to put on the Board of directors. She has fired all of the volunteers and tried to take over the charity as her personal non-profit. She has failed to file legal documents with the state and federal government and no one knows where the contributions are being spent. The future of the cats under TRF care is unknown at best. She will not allow me or the volunteers to enter the refuge and care for the animals.

I am a founding director of this charity and I have contributed untold time and effort taking care of cats that we have rescued and provided refuge to and I have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last ten years. Now the other founding director has attempted to manipulate the Board of Directors into removing me from participation in the organization because she has become personally involved with a volunteer. She has also unilaterally changed organization policy from a no-kill shelter to euthanizing large numbers of animals with non-life threatening medical issues.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Ten years caring for animals, getting medical care , filing IRS forms 990, trapping cats, and all other aspects of buying food, litter and supplies. I also invested personal funds in to buy a 75 acre refuge and erect buildings to house cats that are not available for adoption.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Remove the President at least temporaily and attempt to get a mediator to resolve the current disputes among the Board of Directors do to possible conflicts of interest.
