The Estaugh is a not-for-profit Quaker-related organization that sponsors residential and health care facilities and services for persons 55 and older, and is dedicated to serving their personal and community needs, while supporting and encouraging their active participation in the broader society.
Founded in 1914, the Estaugh is guided in its philosophy and practices by the teachings and beliefs of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), particularly the basic tenet that their is "that of God" in everyone, and the respect for the sanctity of every individual inherent in this belief. Estaugh--sponsored facilities value diversity and seek to include all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, ethnicity, handicap, gender or sexual orientation. The Estaugh is committed to serving its residents for the rest of their lives, fulfilling its contractual commitments, and as financial assistance funds permit.
The Estaugh recognized its relationship to the needs, concerns, and problems of the broader community as a not-for-profit, mission-driven organization, responsible employer, community business, and neighbor. It advances the interests of older adults through program development, education, delivery of services, participation in research, and active support of pertinent legislation.
