Mission: Spectrum Housing was founded in 1992 by John D. (Jack) Mathews and Lorri Jordan w/our president Frederick D. Schnurr to address problems occuring at some multi-family housing complexes in the Dallas area. Initially, Spectrum was engaged by another Dallas-based nonprofits to assist with management and the development of social service plan for properties acquired through the HUD Disposition Program. Today, Spectrum had developed into an agency that is HUD-preferred for its expertise. Spectrum is also working with groups in Austin, Tx. where afterschool care is provided as well as summer programs for the complexs that were involved with. Computer training is also available and they are looking for funds for both projects to get books for childrens library to be on both sites. Also looking for funds in all complexs were involved with for rental assistance. These funds would be used if someone was (laid off from a job, became sick and couldn't work, death in family etc.) to help out, and give them time to could get back on there feet.
